Had no trouble with any type of emissions and in fact the recalls were not even completed before I got it. No issues at all, beside the CA DMV being a pain in the ***....good luck let me know if you have any more Q's.
i ll send you a pm when and if i need some help i ll be moving to the Bay Area so i wont be too far from you!

I purchased my FD in Late 2001. It had 41K miles on it and had all of the recalls done. I just took it into my local DMV and they told me to take it to a smog station. Normally in my county we don't even have to get our cars smogged but there is a special rule about bringing cars in from out of state. So I called a few places and no one wanted to touch it. One smog station agreed but when I brought it in their mechanic was stumped. He said the nothing was where the blueprints said it was. So then I took it to a rotary specialist in Sacramento. They gave it to the smog shop next door to them and it passed. What can I say. It's possible they had a special relationship with them or something but I really don't know. Since we don't have regular smog checks in my county (no smog up here, more trees than people), I haven't had to take it into a smog place since.
My mechanic said as long as its running well shouldn't have any problem passing emissions tests. Gotta let it warm up real well though.
