Single Turbo'd FD's Lets be honest their not fun street cars i've had both and sequentials are more practical if you have a healthy social life(girls hate it single turbos it makes their hair smell like gasoline so i'm always stock driving the winter beater)

A little off topic... And i'm a huge fan of individualizing and making our cars one off. But for some reason the more and more I look at our fd's... The STOCK OEM Side Mirrors are absolutely absurd. They kill it for me now...they're so bubbly and big in my opinion. That and crappy crazy body kits.

+1, one of my original OMP line had chafed most of the way through and was just dribbling oil on the top of the block. Possibly contributed to my second engine giving up. Stainless ones may not give you any performance gain, but they do give you peace of mind that oil is actually getting where it's meant to be!
Here's something else to consider. Do you still have piece of mind knowing you cant see the oil color change through the lines? Here's what I'm getting at. I've owned all generations of Rx7s (2 1st gens, one 2nd gen, and my fd). On the 1st and 2nd gens, it is very easy to see the OMP line change to a lighter color after an oil change after a few miles. With those stainless lines, you will never see this. If there's no color change then there's a good chance your OMP isn't working properly or flowing. Now I know the Fd's are hard to see anyways with so much crap in the way but, you can still check the outlet lines from the pump. Also checking the oil level drop from the sump will never tell you it's working if your oil pan seeps (which is pretty much every fd out their).

I always thought the braided lines were only for reliability of the hoses themselves, but had nothing to do with how the oil is applied... simlar to an A/I setup?
There's no question they are the most reliable lines you can run but the are completely over engineered for the psi levels that the OMP produces. Also see my above post for the main reason I dislike them.

Dead serious. See my above post. You have to understand that the rotary's combustion chamber is very large and elongated. During a cold start, the ecu is programed to dump in more fuel. Since the engine isn't nearly as efficient as a piston engine when it comes to FULLY combusting the fuel/air mixer, the engine NATURALY builds up more carbon deposits. We don't need to be doing anything that promotes extra carbon build-up. Idling a cold rotary up to it's operating temp isn't helping anything however, if your like "mannykiller" an have eliminated the OMP, then it's not a problem because he's premixing. When you premix, you are providing the engine with a really nice oil film throughout the entire combustion chamber. Carbon deposits will still form but, the carbon can't adhere to the oil filmed surfaces and therefore gets expelled out the exhaust. This is why premixing is something that EVERY rotary should get.
Also to add, the absolutely the best way to cool down ANY turbo charged vehicle, is to just simply drive around a few miles before shut down while staying off boost. This allows you to get maximum air flow through your heat exchangers and engine bay. When I drag raced my car, I would never go back to pits and just let it idle to cool off. I would always get back on the highways and put a couple miles on the engine cruising let all that great air flow cool everything down. When I got back I would just shut the engine down and open the hood to admire how much cooler everything was. A turbo timer can NEVER duplicate this. All your doing is heating everything up.

I should be posting this in the new member section but what exactly is premixing? I thought i read adding some solution (oil?) right into your gas but that almost seems obsurd.. then again, we're driving ******* rx-7s!

I've only owned my FD for about a month and its only been chilly for about 2 weeks and i was letting it warm up just till the temp gauge moved but your post = my FDs life. *PRAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSE*

Off the top of my head, there are a few mods that I would never install:
- Stretched tire fits / strange camber setups. (Fortunately this is mostly a VW thing)
- Slammed suspensions. Again, I'm happy I don't see this on many FDs.
- Wheels larger than 19", especially if they're heavy and/or narrow
- Cheap tires. I can't believe how many times I see this.
- Midpipes. Yes, I'll say it, I do care about the environment, so a high-flow cat makes a lot of sense for everything other than a race car.
- Car set up for noise and not power. Loud exhaust and stereo that's rattling everything apart. The problem is not that I'm old, the problem is you're deaf but the rest of us still hear your mess.

I hate front mount intercoolers, get a proper v-mount. I hate FD's that are not race car's. In my opinion the FD makes the perfect track machine, why just use it to putt around on the street. There are better street car's, but not manny better car's to use as a race car. I almost forgot to mention people with dual blow off valves(single turbo obviously). Dual blow off valves are absolutely ridiculous, serve no purpose, and make you look like F&F.

Way too many parts that I dislike to list but more important than that I think people who are suckers for anything JDM are funny. It's like JDM parts are a result of superior taste whereas in reality most of those parts (especially exterior) are ugly.
