There's something to be said for dead stock. My last FD was heavily modded. It only ever made it to one track day in the whole time I owned it. The rest of the time it was either not tuned right or there was a cooling/intake drama that I wasn't satisfied with.

My current FD is completely standard apart from track pads. I've owned it for less than 6 months and already has been to the track countless times. It cops an absolute thrashing, never runs hot or lean. I just chuck fuel in it and attempt to kill it. It has 130,000 on it and the inside of the motor and turbos havent seen the light of day since November 1994 in Hiroshima. I think about replacing things not because they need it but because they've had such a good innings.

Meanwhile my stockpile of parts I'm "going to" put on builds up in the cupboard
