New KD Rotary Ported Motor Ready for Drop In

New KD Rotary Ported Motor Ready for Drop In.

-15% enlarged primary and exhaust ports
-25% enlarged secondary intake ports
-Silicone o-ring gaskets
-Eccentric shaft mod
-Enlarged oil and coolant passages

Per Dave Barninger's instructions...will run 15W50 Mobil One from Day One. Break in will be first 500 miles up to 5 psi and 5500 rpm. Change oil after 500 miles--rock'n'roll

Dave likes the synthetic motor oil for maximum turbo life. Dave says the 5 psi boost is required to seat the apex seals properly during the critical first 500 miles. He says you shouldn't "baby" the motor the first 1000 miles with no boost; the apex seals will NOT seat properly.

Apex Power FC settings:

-Tuned to up to 1 Bar, with two boost settings--low boost is 0.75 Bar (10.9 psi?), high boost is 0.85 Bar (12.3 psi?). AFRs tuned to 11.9 @ 0.75 Bar and 11.7 @ 0.85 Bar.

-Trailing ignition is retarded slightly to take advantage of the enlarged intake and exhaust ports.

-Low speed fans kick on 180 F, high speed fans at 190 F.

Yes my boost is set conservatively. For those who don't know, I'm a drivers ed/road racing track fiend, and require reliability/durability OVER ultimate horsepower production.

Nevertheless, I'm told, by many noteworthy owners with modded FDs, that 320-rear-wheel-hp on 92 unleaded is realistically achievable.

I probably WON'T dyno the car. I prefer real-world results--road racing track kills. I want some Z06, SVT Cobra, Porsche 993 Twin Turbo BUTT!!

Right now, kind of moderate for me.
Just reliability (vaccum hoses...) and the clutch, as well as air filter and DP + cat-back system.
The brakes pads are high-performance (d'uh).
Basically replace OEM parts by aftermarket whenever its needed.
Of course, EGR is gone and stuff...
Will bring in the PFC which I already have in my possession when the proper timing comes.

Don't forget aboot those hood pins I have, too! The paint job is 2 years old.

I want to do more, but prices in Canada our outrageous because of the exchange rate...

Will always keep the twin turbo setup, that is what I bought the car for, it's her soul.
Don't have any problem with those that have big projects out of FDs... just personal opinion

From Japan, updating

Hello vudoodoodoo, Hello TomsRX7,
I just surprised that my pictures are on the field. I am very glad that my site is promoted. My English site will also be updated day by day, so I would appreciate your visiting to my site. Today some RX-7 contents are updated.

Hi TomsRX7, I have received your mail, I understand your issue about Gulf Spoke. Yes, I will try to search for your wheels.

So what's the point of this poll? There doesn't seem to be anything astounding in the results...

i think the poll is a little off because 3 mods is not moderately modded...intake, dp and cb is 3 mods, and that's pretty much stock imo.

We can argue till we are blue in the face about definitions and have no concrete answer, but one thing for sure, an intake, DP and Catback in no way qualifies as stock. you realize with an intake, dp and catback only, your HP can seriously increase.
