I guess theres two kids who won't be terrorizing the rest of us out here. But damn what a waste, two lives, two families shattered and your third generation lost to boot. Out of all the cars I have ever owned the Rx-7 is the only one I have really bonded with. Partly out of the mystique, partly out of its rarity. Sorry for your loss man, get out there and find another one.

Do you guys hear yourselves? At least a couple of you sounded decent, but for the most part I'm disgusted to read a lot of your comments. I'm sorry that the car got stolen, I mean that's a lot of hard-earned money and pride just taken in a second. As for these kids, how can anyone say they deserved to die like that? You're comparing a car to two human beings. I have an FD and if I had a choice to kill two of my worst enemies or have the car destroyed, I know which one I would pick. It's not eveybody that has the money or ever will to own such a nice car as the Rx-7. And for these people it's like a piece of eye-candy. Sure it's not right to steal, but have you never been tempted? At that age morals don't always mean a lot. We've all made mistakes in our past and that doesn't mean that you can't change, especially at their ages. I'm sure he'll get money back for his stolen car - probably more than he got it for and I can definitely say that there was no reason that these kids deserved to die.

I was kinda shocked to tell you the truth....worrying about that FD seemed kinda shallow to me.

If it's one thing I hate it's a damn theif...they are hands down the WORST scum in the world. Complete disregard for peoples hard earned money, time, and effort, as well as giving a damn about how THEY feel all goes out the window. At 17, you are FULLY aware of what you are doing, and at 13, you should have no business stealing cars. Their stupid decisions put them in their own situation, and they ended up paying with their lives. Sad yes, but a valuable lesson to be learned. If they had thought twice about what they were doing, they could have avoided it. It was their own fault, and I don't feel one bit shamed in saying so.

While it's never good for anybody to lose their life before their natural time, we all choose our destiny.

And it was their choice to steal a car well knowing the possible outcome of their actions. Even at 13 years old, he's seen a couple of "America's Scariest Police Chases".

They chose their own path, and they paid the ultimate price for their choice.

I feel sorry that they died, but it's their own fault.

I agree with Shinobi 100% but I also think death is harsh for the theft of a car. They may have gone onto bigger and worse crimes as well. The parents need to be held accountable. Sad story anyway you look at it.

BTW: That Mazda theft system works great.

this is a tough situation...i mean they did steal your car and they deserve to be punished....but their sentence was a lil harsh...cars are replaceable..a life isnt

then again everythin that they got was their fault...they were their own judge, jury and executioner

Well that's what i'm consern how they go thte car running? I know they broke the window to get inside but what they did before that? the cop toll me there at least two ways could got in but still didn't make sence but is not the first time I heard this. Get a second battery and connect the positive to the ground and blow every fuse or getthe Airbags to deploy that desiable everything. As for jjpnoy510 thanx for the pics of the FD with the Prelude that was my prior car after two blow motors in a year I got tired, but is another one of those cars like the Fd but not that extreme.

Sorry about your car.

As far as the kids: if it wasn't this, it would have been something else, they were obviously on the path to nowhere.

i'm not the least bit sympathetic to their plight... they weren't stealing food, or blankets for their family, they stole a car for a joy ride... and croaked, and i think thats hilarious. for all you know they were "bored" suburban rich kids. Go take a dump on the crash site., and then start shopping for a new car.

AMEN!

I'm not glad they were killed... But I don't hurt for them either... I'd rather save the tears for the people that die being noble and doing something good.

You took the words right out of my mouth! I was making sure no one posted it before I did! I guess great Texans think alike. It's sad for family that someone died ... but it's good for the world that these kids won't be able to reproduce. Hopefully the parents don't seek to replace them.

twiztedjeckel - I think you're missing the point, but I'm glad you were brought up with such great morals.

Anyhow, I'm not saying that it wasn't their ultimate decision that caused the action, this is true, but no one ever deserves to die. I agree it was their choice that led to their death. All I'm saying is that you should never wish someone dead or say that it was good that someone died, it's just not a decent thing to do or say.

Maybe it's not a decent thing to do or say, but it happens, because that's human nature. I-- and maybe many others-- think you're missing the point: if you've ever experienced the shock, and then incredible anger that results from getting your prized car/motorcycle stolen, you'd know that these are just words on a message board, not actions (well, for most people at least).

And since you mention morals, you might want to think about the fact that those two punks were stealing someone else's property. And not for their sustenance (i.e., food) either. Not much morality in that, is there?

Not to belabor this thread, but generally occupants in roll-overs are killed due to being thrown from the vehicle while the car is barrel-rolling itself to pieces, so there may not be any blood. Although the car going up in flames puts paid to that.

Speaking of car thieves, there's a great story in the new C&D about a journo doing a ride-in with South African Hiway Patrolmen chasing car-jackers, which is apparently a huge problem over there. The cops over there have authority to shoot the fleeing thieves; which these guys did, resulting in the stolen BMW 330i getting barrel-rolled at 130 mph. There's also a sidebar story on car-jacking countermeasures; one is a spring-loaded bar that whacks the perp's feet out from under him, and the other (said to be in production for sale) is a system that emits flaming LPG at the perp.

Sorry, daem0n, couldn't help myself...
