Please help with ecu decision!

I've been searching. But still don't know what I need. I bought a 93' r1 w/ PF intercooler and full exhaust w/silencer no cats, 3" down pipe, act clutch, stock turbos and injectors. NO BOOST controller! It was a PF controller and the previous owner could not get it to work correctly so he "trashed it" (he says).

Obviously, I want to control the fuel/air setup. Should I just remap the ecu to allow for more fuel (who?) and get a good boost controller or would you recommend the APEXi PFC for both tasks? I plan on upgrading injectors and going single Turbo down the road. I've read pros and cons about the PFC. I want the best protection from leaning out/early detonation, etc. I am running in vacuum cause I don't want to burn it up!!! This sucks.

Once again, your comments are appreciated!

The Power FC will cover all your needs. Jason at rx7store has a good price. Good map support from Apexi and the guys here also.

The AEM unit can do it too. Also, the Haltech will work if you don't mind rewiring everything.

Basically, I would not suggest doing the piggyback + piggyback + piggyback route.

watch your fuel system with that setup. you're definitley in the realm of needing bigger secondaries/fuel pump. if you're keeping boost sub 12lbs it should be ok...

I have the Power FC and Commander and it's an awesome unit. You can control your boost with the Power FC. There are pros and cons to every ECU out there. The Haltech is pretty expensive, just to install the unit will cost you $700-800 and this is without tuning. The problem with the AEM is that it is too new and you don't know how reliable, and performance the unit will be. The Power FC can be installed by a 6 year old in 5 minutes and you can just start driving your car.
