Plastic Repair

I'm looking into trying my hand at plastic repair and I had a few questions:

Anyone know what type of plastic is used for the center console area under the faux leather that the shifter and e-brake trim attaches to? Is it the same as the plastic of the trim itself? What about the trim piece around the inside door latch on the driver's side?

Also, I saw that people have tried quite a few different ways to address the peeling finishes on our interiors, but are there any specific brands that anyone recommends?

BTW, I know that this topic probably could have gone into the interior section, but I figured that the plastic types of those pieces might be gen-specific.

Anyhow, thanks in advance.

Chris

If you look on the backside they should all say >ABS< (that is the type of plastic it is). I will actually be fixing my console and other plastics tonight & tomorrow. I will be using locktite epoxy for plastic and some pieces to reinforce it. The locktite stuff bonds to more than just ABS so even if something different was thrown in the mix you would be alright.

A while back someone did a writeup on reinforcing the console. Just hit the search for it. He used PVC and something else for the job.

Wrong section. Look at the interior section for your answers.

Awesome. I can't wait to get started on that.

As for the finish, I'll search in the interior section.

Thanks guys.
