Question A-Pillar Gauge Pod

So I got one of the full replacement gauge pods and I'm wondering how everyone's mounted theirs? I was thinking about using the stock a-pillar cover by using doublesided mounting tape and then just drilling through... but I'd rather keep the stock piece in one piece if possible. The gauge pod in question doesn't have any tabs on the back like the stock piece, so I'm kind of stuck as to what to use. Any help?

If I remember correctly, I think I just drilled a hole at the top of the gauge pod to mount it up. I also removed the stock A-pillar to keep it in good condition.

I just have a single gauge pod and cut lower 'lip' of the (autometer) pod at a slight angle about 1/2 inch from the bottom. This allowed it to just slide it down between the dash and the 'A' pillar cover. It fits tight enough that it doesn't move. And I didn't have to drill any holes in the cover. It also keeps the guage down low, almost even with the stock gauge hood, and out of my line of sight for left turns.

You are supposed to use the stock a piller trim with the gauge pod. What I did was remove the stock a piller trim and place the gauge pod on it and line it up evenly on all sides. Then drill small holes through both pieces on each corner and use rivits to mount it. Then just use some black touch up paint to cover the rivits. Or if you don't have a rivit gun, just use those little plastic tabs the gauge pod came with. I prefer the rivits because they hold better.

Unlike others i used no screws. I dont like the look of the screw heads showing on the a pillar. I just bought some hight strength adhesive and glued the two together. It has never come apart.

In order not to ruin the pillar itself. I bought a used pillar off someone that was in ruff shape, you dont see it any ways as it gets covered by the pod. I took my original and stored it away in case i ever took it all off and wanted to go stock again

Or in case I ever got the ambition to linearize the stock temp guage.
Besides, driver's side side 'A' pillar covers without holes may be a collector's item someday.
