It really is not a piston. The green cylinder contains two bushings, one nylon and one very hard rubber one. You cannot push the rod in the way it looks like you can. IMO, they are there to help dampen the vibrations.

the stuff looks great...cant believe you spent all that money to do that and still run that turbo choking stock IC...and intake...what about your dp and catback? Id concentrate on your temps and your airflow before ya spent any more cash polishing her up.

thats just me...car looks good though.

Actually I payed for the V-mount before I sent the parts out to be polished. I got them polished because I had them off to do a vaccume hose job. Hopefully we will be able to get everything in by saturday night. I think stokedxiv (charlie) should call out of work sick on saturday I was also thinking about wrapping the DP with some heat wrap, and the turbo inlet pipes as well.

I myself am going through the polishing stage...check my thread (frankadelic5) question I have is kinda dumb but did you paint the alternator insulation to match the blue silicone hoses or was that done professionally? Nice job on the polishing!!!

That was actually done by gotham racing, they do it as a part of the alternator polishing process. I did it not only to match my hoses but I also did it to match the pulleys. They also rebuild the alternator as well. Not bad for $135.

Wow that looks really nice. I have my manifold painted for the time being. Looks kind of like silver ceramic coating. I plan to get mine polished eventually. What is the approximate cost?

Btw, while the ground straps look clean, some generic black ones from the autoparts store placed in the right locations will do the same job for ALOT less money. I looked into getting those and couldn't justify the cost. The add claimed hp increase which is pretty much bs. If you don't have sufficient grounding then the car might be down on power, but this wouln't give you more hp over a well grounded system.

gotham racing charges 200 to polish the manifold. for an extra $70 or so you can get the throttle body polished. It looks a lot better if you get that polished as well IMO. About the ground straps. A magazine actually tested them on an Rx-7 and saw a 14 HP difference I believe. But that was to the flywheel. Some of it could have been BS, but you will likely get about 5 HP out of it.

Even if there was no HP gain, they look great. It's all in the details. Tom

true, but bicuspid is right, any dampning will reduce the effectivess. it is so minimal on both type of braces vibration really isn't a concern. especially if you have exhaust, etc.

What type of battery is that? and can you provide a link to where I can get one?

I plan on getting my alternator repaired, and polished by gotham too. Was yours damaged, or did you just decide to have it polished?
