PICS! Those pics of my car and kickass cover are finally here! (56K friendly!)
Now that I'm home for the Summer, I took some pictures of my car and uploaded them to my webspace. I promised the pics about four months ago. I tried to make them 56K friendly friendly (seeing as how that's what I'm running now, I feel your pain). You might just want to right click the thumbnails and click "save as". If you don't look at anything else, CHECK OUT THE CAR COVER!
First up is the exterior. Perhaps the knockoff hater can help determine if that is a genuine Veilside C1 wing.

Freaky Monkey007, you probably have an automatic too, you automatic-slandering uncle Tom!
Rogue, I definitely want to do mods, but not on an automatic. If I can't afford a 5-spd in a couple years, then I will just do the tranny conversion. The stock auto tranny is fragile and the ECU, I'm sure, will be a pain to deal with. There also aren't nearly as many tuners who have experience with modding autos.
GotBoostd7, I'll be sure to add that mod to my sig! If you're serious about the cover, you'll need to bring the car to the shop on Marco Island to get it measured. Nearly everything my father does is custom.
Johnny, if I ever find the ricer who punched four holes in my hatch to stick that fugly wing on the back, then I'm going to punch four holes in his hatch with my car!

What dimensions need to be taken? Is it something I could do and provide for you? What
s a cost estimate?
Thanks,
Brad

Thats one hell of a nice car cover, your dad did a good job. Ditch the spoiler/thing on the back. Its not that big of deal to mod auto's. You should go ahead and start doing some things to enhance performance. I've seen one modded auto fd that had a haltech installed, and also kept the stock ecu to allow certain functions to work. Brian at rotorsportsracing.com was who did the work, so if your interested you can look into it.

GotBoostd7, He doesn't really make measurements. Instead, he places the material directly on the car and marks the seams with chalk and pins much like a suit taylor would do. My dad says that a cover like that would cost between $300 and $400. The best thing would be to find a car with the same body as your's and use that as a model.
Everyone:
OK, OK. The wing has got to go, but another concern is that the foam rubber cushioning between the wing and the hatch may have ruined the paint in that area. I would still like something "tasteful" to put in it's place if I indeed remove it. Does anyone know if the J-Spec '99 wing uses the same holes as the older stock wing?
