I can't speak for the quality of the kits that were sold through M2, but when the intercoolers were available directly from Kevin, they fit perfectly. The only legitimate complaint I've ever heard is that the early piping would hit R1 strut bars.

To Chuck and Kevin:
You guys need to quit the dick measurement contest! Is very unproffesional. That something I don't expect from you guys or any other respectable forum members. I believed you 2 own an apology to the forums members. I really don't care how both of you do business as long you are not selling shitty product which you are not. Most people are happy with your products so let it be. So, what if products are beeing copied? This is better to our benneficts becuase they are actually making it better. There are tons of companies that do this out there. If you are not copying great cool points for originality. But quit the argument. Actaully you guys are great at what you do, you 2 should get together and come with some new stuff.

Man...this forum sucks. I can't believe they don't have the smiley icon that woulda been PERFECT for this thread...
I saw it on another forum before. It's this guy who's got a bag of popcorn, and is reading/watching, and periodically throws some popcorn into his mouth and keeps chewing as he watches lol...hilarious
Anyways, now that the fighting has stopped and the dust has cleared lol, I just wanted to make 2 quick points
1) Scrub mentioned his temp diff of a 7-10 degrees w/ rdavidsrx7's spearco and stock radiator setup, and a vented hood. I was w/ them, and I have a PFS SMIC, stock radiator, and a hood w/ a MUCH larger vent than rdavidsrx7's, and the temp diff between Scrub and I was around 15 degrees, and sometimes up to 20 degrees. A very big diff if you ask me. How "standard and scientific" were these measurements? Not very. But we were on the same road, at the same time, doing the same speed, w/ diff setups, and those are the temps. V-mount's gotta account for at least a major portion of those temps. Madd props to ya Chuck for the V-mount.
2) PVerdieck, I feel what you're sayin about the vented hood...a large middle vent is great, but vents in the back for the turbos would be great as well. I got a VIS CF hood w/ a large central vent much like the MS one. As for the rear, I'm gonna try Fd3Boost's idea...remove the weatherstripping between the hood and the windshield. I think it'll help vent a lot of the air from the rear.

Don't do it. That idea has been shot down by a few people. When you either remove the weatherstripping, or lift the rear of the hood up with some washers/spacers, you make it worse. The pressure that comes up the hood actually goes into the engine bay at the back.
RhodeDog, that June looks good too. Another option...
Manny, so far I have only seen that hood at ExtremeDimensions, which is listed as a new sponsor.

Right. Wade, CrispyRx7, and FritzFlynn coached me NOT to remove the weather stripping for the reason you mentioned below.
The Extreme Dimensions hood looks good. I like the shark-like slits for vents. $299 for the hood ain't bad either. It's probably fiberglass right?

Huh? I see 499 here

Yeah, I think its fiberglass.
Hoods are either OEM steel, fiberglass or carbon fiber, and it doesn't look like CF.

I started WWIII
On a side note, You do not have to cut into the frame or take off the front bumper to install the V-mount. It helps to take the bumper off but it's not necessary. Also removing the IC is very very easy, only takes about 5 minutes if that. Just thought I'd throw that out their.

BTW, I think that hood from ExtremeDimansion (ED Type B Hood) looks old school. Depending on the bodykit, it might look not as good. It would do well w/ RE-Amemiya body kit tho. Those peices are all round and well.

I don't have any bodykit pieces, so the ED hood will look great!

(edit) actually this thread had almost no real tech info, we've had much better debates in the past about actual IC function etc. might still be archived. This was just a copying hypocrisy thread.

P.S. I never mentioned a word about Vmounts for those goofy people claiming I always bad mouth Vmounts. I posted because I found the whole copying hypocrisy to be too damn funny. I thought it was a riot how defensive people got. Anyway, pretty funny thread. You can actually see a good lesson here as well, by stirring up the hornets nest a bit you can immediately spot specifically which people are eager to sting. It lets you know who to ignore in the future and which agenda they might have when they try to play unbiased in the future. A little turmoil flushes them all out.
A good life lesson

Kevin,
I think you've been charming into a lot of V-mount threads before....saying something like bad designs of the V-mount. I think you disagreed w/ the idea of having to share air between Rad and IC directly like V-mount does. There might be more point you showed, but I don't remember....I tend to remember the drama tho .
OH, during that time, Chuck has never showed up and debated, that's why I posted "Finally, Chuck's replied'. The one who replied is ZeroR, who uses V-mount as well.

I have no pics (no digicam).
2-inch weather stripping foam, 1/2-thick sheet foam, double-sided carpet tape, and good scissors.
Seal off the FMIC core and the rad core to the undertray. Place foam to the sides of the rad core, and engine bay.
Use flat foam to seal off gap between FMIC endtank piping and undertray.
The idea is to force the incoming air through the FMIC core and rad core fins, and not allow any of the air to flow between the cores and undertray or sides of the radiator core.
Use a flashlight, and shine through the nose. You should not see any light behind the radiator. If you do, stick some foam there, and seal it up!
You can get creative with the foam, and add some on the top of the rad core, such that when the hood is closed, the foam seals up against the hood's interior and rad core. This is easier said than done b/c of the hood prop rod, rad fan wiring harnesses that hang over the rad core, etc...
For more info, do a search. There was an in-depth thread on engine cooling in the race cars section.
Good luck!

Wierd!!! That was my post right above this one. I accidentally responded w/o signing in and apparently it had logged me in as somebody from Los Angeles. I don't understand that one. Anyways...
