I have to agree with Bill B also. My choice woulda been the FM/10's. But 5's are definitely no less fine.
Thanks man

So when do you want to help me and Chris drop his motor in? We can use all we can get, trust me ....

Beautiful job Rich, that looks great. Brooks' car was simpler with the "no spoilers" look but personally I like Rich's better. (which is why my car looks almost identical in silver but with different non-polished wheels & a RE diffuser) Rich's FD is also similar to Brooks' old car as it was up to the limit on the stock twins, with Rich making a little more RWHP with I'd guess better a/f #'s due to the tuning and injectors. Again, really nice job Rich.

p.s. Next on the list for this car should be the matching brake ducts for the 99 spoiler - I got mine from Corksport for $90 and it cleans the look up nicely and is functional as well.

(old pix below)
Thanks for the compliments, Scott. That's great advice on the ducts--think I'll be calling corksport today . Do they just bolt right up? Wanna get those guys put on before the next Motorsports Ranch event.

On a serious note, I fixed my problem with excessive coolant temps, so I can run more than 10 psi this time around.

looking forward to it man--

Ah my little premature friend, you feel that boost was the cause of your inadequecies? I think the only boost you need is in your seat at the dinner table.

I plan to add a WIDEbody kit to keep you guys back there on the straights If that doesn't work I am going to throw rabid chipmunks into passing cars. How can I ever hope to compete with only 11psi on a stock motor and 225/50/16s? Guess I will just have to drive faster

It should be very nice with the cool weather, as long as it is warm enough to get heat in the tires.

No problem. Mine just bolted up AFAIK. My shop did the work when they put on the 99 spoiler but I've checked it out and I'm pretty sure it needs no modifications to fit on a US spec FD. And I was off by 8 bucks on that price - I just checked my receipt - it was $98 for the pair of ducts. I figured it was worth it for a car like mine with OEM front brakes. Plus, the whole design intent of the 99 front spoiler is to minimize airflow under the car to reduce front end lift. I feel that this would be comprimised (slightly) by just leaving the brake duct holes open, so I pulled the trigger. But I haven't been to the track since I added the 99 front spoiler & ducts so it's all conjecture at this point.

Yep. I think that's the only part of the FD that hasn't "kept up with the times". The styling of the body definitely has... it's just the wheel.

Rich and Turbojeff

Rich those 265/40-17 S03s on 10 wide x 17s look HUGE in back. I've got rear tire width envy...sigh...still no Fikses...

I'm with TurboJeff. 9 x 17 with 255/40-17 up front will keep the handling balance nice.

Enjoy your rides!
