Pics of my FD w/ '99 body
I finally got some good pics of my car after I got it out of the body shop. I have recently PCS'ed(moved) up here to Oklahoma from Florida (3800lb FD)to start USAF pilot training, hence the pics in front of the MIGHTY T-37 Tweet basic jet trainer.
Like the custom plate?
Nice ***
RX-7 vs. T-37
Another
Your typical engine
Simple, stealthy dash
Little system, quick disconnect for racing
Well, that's all I got, some folks wanted more pictures, so there they are, enjoy, you guys will be seeing more of my car virtually than I will in the next year, pilot training is gonna keep me kinda busy.

Oh, yeah, that is the actual '99 urethane bumper from Japan. Find a very talented body guy with lots of patience. It actually has a section of a Jaguar XK8 bumper in place of the license holder, they had one sitting around with a fragged end on it and thought it looked about right so they cut out the center and frankensteined it
Yes, that is the Spirit R color, 25G, different slightly from the new TGM color that is on RX-8s.

Damnit! I meant to motor down that antenna before I took the pics, just takes a couple of cycles of the radio.
Yeah, the body shop was Darrens Auto Body in Panama City, FL They are AWESOME. Besides taking 2 months, they took the whole thing apart, windows, doors, all glass, they did it up right.
It's not bad looking for an FD with almost 170,000 miles

Wow...very clean ! That is exactly what I want. I think the FD looks best in stock '99 spec form. Body just flows so well. Drop some nice wheels on top of that as you did and you are pimpin rotors.

I spent about $4000 on the paint, they used some top notch german paint, like $260/gallon just for the clear! You really have to see it in person, the pics dont do it justice.
You can get a '99 bumper from Mazda Motorsports for $350! (now the 2 blinkers are $380) If any of you havent found mazdamotorsports.com yet you are missing out. All you have to do is compete in 2 autocrosses a year to stay a member of this factory support program! You essentially get any parts for the car you competed in at dealer cost plus a few cents.
Thanks for all of the complements guys, it has been a labor of love, and the project is never finished...next up a nice medium sized T04_ looking to make 400RWHP on pump gas.
