I'd rather have that hood vs the scoot hood.

Thanks for jumping into conclusion without even know what's going on. The original hood fits like **** and you can see photos on this link

http://www.rotaryextreme.com/scoothood.html

About the gap between the bumper and the hood, the original has a big gap too. So don't even go there. Scoot Sports can't even get their own hood to fit right on their own shop car. Get the latest Option 2 Mag and check out the 4 rotor engine they are putting in. The picture shows their car in the background with their own hood not fitted right. I thought the original one I got was defective but it seems like they are all made that way.

Chuck Huang

I still have the original and if you don't believe me, why don't you buy it from me. I will give you a special deal of $1800 vs the retail price of $2100

The replica hood comes with latch and it's done already. RX7RAGE will get his latch tomorrow.

RX7 RAGE, if you don't like my opinion, that's fine. You posted the pictures to show off, and you have to expect that some of the comments you'll get aren't going to be positive. That's life. If you have such thin skin that you can't deal with some criticism, then you probably shouldn't post at all.

Chuck, I was just giving him a little ****. However, I should know better to jump to conclusions. I jumped to the conclusion that you were a thief for ripping off other vendor's body kits, but apparently I was wrong according to the people saving a few bucks who are willing to look the other way. You're still a first class scumbag in my book, though.

So, when you faked the "big garage sale" bid on the RE Amemiya sleek light kit from your friend's car to pad your own pockets and re-sold the Mazdaspeed wing that I'd already paid for, and then I had to get a refund check from your mom, which part of that do you think gave me a bad first impression of you and your honesty?

Eat a bag of ****, Chuck. You make me sick.

I have to agree with Jim,

Its wrong to take someone elses work and re create it! Your basically taking hours and hours ( probably hundreds to thousands) and your making a cheap immitation! thats wrong!

Please tell me how copying is right... its not a replica.. Its a rip-off!

I have zero probems with making replicas.I would have bought the original scoot hood if it was made in carbon fiber but since its not my carbon fiber version from Chuck will be in the mail next to on the way to my house.

Jim,just because you don't like the scoot hood.Does that mean we have to like you're evergreen tree 7?

Jim:

How was that garage sale fake? Did you ever hear about other people talking about I take their money and run away? If any of what you said is true, why do people still get thier parts? The funny thing is that it happend 7 years ago when I was still in colllege. I guess you do have somewhat good memory but you have some facts left out for your own good on purpose. I guess your brain filters out your own wrong doing over time.

About the RE Amemiya headlight kit, you bidded on it and then you regreted so I gave you your money back. About the Mazdaspeed wing, why should I sell to someone that does not seem to follow through when I had a local buyer ready to it. Sorry, it's not my mom's check, it's my check. Even if it were my mom's check, so what? Did I ever take one cent from you? Can you honestly say I rip you off. How much did I rip you off? Why don't you take me to court. You are no dumbass. If I really took your money without shipping you any parts, I would have been in jail already. You are the one that's not binded to the contract when you bid on something but I didn't even give you a hard time and gave you your money right away. I don't like to do business when people involved are not happy with the transaction. I can't even believe that you are the one that screwed me over and then you dare to talk crap about me on the internet. Because of your not binding to the contract, I had to sell the headlight kit cheaper and lost money. You ended up with a brand new RE headlight kit and I am pretty sure you paid more for it. I lost money too. So what's the big deal? Because of one unsucessful transaction, you can judge my character just based on that? Why don't you listen to other people's experience with me. Maybe you are just too narrow minded.

I am a scumbag in your book. Good, you are a hypocrite in my book too. Why do you have to give rx7rage a little ****. It's his car and he can do whatever he wants to it just like what you did to your V8 rx-7 conversion.

What does the fitment with the hood have to do with my honesty and eating a bag of ****? Got nothing more to say? So I guess you admit the replica or knock off or rip-off hood does fit much better than the original. Oh well, the hood is not for your taste so don't worry too much about it.

Talk all the crap you want. Do you think you can hurt me any bit? Back when I was doing RX-7 Fashion, you talked a lot of crap too. Oh well, business was still good and 99% of the customers were happy. Now I am doing Rotary Extreme. Want to talk more crap? Go ahead, people are still buying and they are happy to see the products and happy with the quality as you can see. Do you see people that bought parts from me talking crap about me other than you? Just relax and use the time you go on the internet to finish your supposedly "OEM" headlight kit.

I don't know who the hell you work for. Last time you said I sold you a bad quality Mazdaspeed replica hood which I never offered. You don't even remember where you got your parts from? Now you want to talk more crap? If you want to read all about replica vs original, just use the search function and read like 10 pages of those. Don't start it here again. Most of the time those who talk crap are those who do not have the money to even buy the replica. I have the original FEED bumper and Scoot hood sitting here. There are only worth $3800 total. You want to pay for them? I can ship them to you right way. Any other original parts you can afford? I can import them for you. If there is nothing original on your car, I can only say you are just jealous.

Cheap imitation? It fits better than original and it has a carbon fiber version that Scoot Sports does not offer. Cheap? I guess $1450 retail is cheap in your book. So want to spend just a few hundred more and get the original for the fiberglass one? If you don't know about the quality, don't assume. I can assume you are a dumbass too but I don't know for sure if it's correct or not. Get my point? stupid kid.

I didn't say the garage sale was fake, I said you faked a bid. Read more carefully.

but you have some facts left out for your own good.

About the RE Amemiya headlight kit, you bidded on it and then you regreted so I gave you your money back.
No, if you recall, I bid $900 which was a reasonable price for a used RE kit. You then claimed someone had bid $1,100. I offered $1,101, half seriously, and you immediately said "sold", which was extremely suspicious. I asked around and found out from other people that you were raising prices to make some money for yourself, confronted you on it, and at that point demanded my money back.

About the Mazdaspeed wing, why should I sell to someone that does not seem to follow through when I had a local buyer ready to it.
Your memory is as faulty as your morals. You had already received the money for the wing, and then told me that you didn't want to go to the trouble of boxing it up, so you had sold it locally. As consolation, you said I could have my pick of whatever was left on the car, which wasn't much and wasn't anything I needed anyway, so I asked for my money back.

Sorry, it's not my mom's check, it's my check. Even if it were my mom's check, so what?
I just thought that it was interesting that someone else was writing your refund checks, since you were the big man of RX-7 Fashion. "Chuck Huang" was not the name on the check that I received.

Did I ever take one cent from you? Can you honestly say I rip you off.
The money was refunded, but you weren't honest in our dealings, and that's what people tend to remember.

You are the one that's not binded to the contract when you bid on something but I didn't even give you a hard time and gave you your money right away.
When you accept money after an agreement on price, that is a binding contract. You refunded the money because you knew you were wrong, and if you hadn't I would have had you up on charges of mail fraud so fast your head would still be spinning.

I don't like to do business when people involved is not happy with the transaction. I can't even believe that you are the one that screwed me over and then you dared to talk crap about me on the internet. Because of your not binding to the contract, I had to sell the headlight kit cheaper and lost money.
Bullshit, they weren't even your headlights, unless you weren't telling the truth about that either. You may have lost money because you were skimming from your friend's profits, but that's not my problem. You screwed me out of a part I'd already paid for, and falsified a bid on another part to make yourself more money and that's MY fault?

I am a scumbag in your book. Good, you are a hyprocrite in my book too. Why do you have to give rx7rage a little ****. It's his car and he can do whatever he wants to it just like what you did to your V8 rx-7 conversion.
Whatever, I'd rather be a hypocrite than a scumbag or a crook.

Talk all the crap you want. Do you think you can hurt me any bit?
You're doing a fine job of hurting yourself... people may appreciate the fact that they can get a Japan-spec body part for less money, but I seriously doubt that you're earning any respect as a "business man".

Just relax and use the time you go on the internet to finish your supposedly "OEM" headlight kit.
You mean rather than buying an RE Amemiya or C-West light kit and ripping them off?? I'm actually investing research and development time in developing a unique kit, something you wouldn't know anything about. The extent of your "innovation" is fixing hood gaps on parts that other vendors created. Nice. You're a swell guy, Chuck. A real prince.

Wow.. what type of operation do you run ? I have never and will never buy anything from you. Its good to know that you know who you are dealing with !

I can afford the original SCOOT hood and just about all the other products you sell.. Just because I dont like the product doesnt mean i have no respect for the maker.!

And finally I suggest you stop assuming... Your a thief! People have something called a copyright. It means that you cannot copy it.. Thats exactly what you are doing. rREGARDLESS of improvements/refinements! You are just stealing the design ( unless you want to tell me you work for Scoot ??) and making $$ off of someone elses work!

And if you thinking I used the word copyright instead of patent... Its because a patent has to have some mechanical design according to the people that issue them!

have a nice day, stealing or not!

That's because you've never had someone make a replica of something you made yourself.

Hypothetical situation: You work for 6 months to develop an original body kit for the RX-7 and then invest in the molds and materials to produce them for the public at a given price. One of your "customers" buys one of your kits, makes his own molds from it, and then starts selling your kit for less money than you're charging, because they have no overhead and no research or development costs to recoupe. Would you still have zero problems with making replicas?

Jim,just because you don't like the scoot hood.Does that mean we have to like you're evergreen tree 7?
I didn't say I didn't like the Scoot hood. I said that it looked like *** on an otherwise stock exterior RX-7, which is my opinion. RX7Rage doesn't have to listen to it any more than I have to listen to anyone's criticism of my project.

The only reason I said it at all was to prove the point to RX7Rage that he had to expect negative commentary as well as positive when he posted his pictures for public approval.

Scoot had already copied Porsche in making that hood.

Not that copying a copy makes it right.

The fact that they copied porsche doesnt make it right.. You are correct there... But @ the same time Porsche didnt make a model for the FD either!

Its just like teh altezza lights. Lexus came up with the design and APC copied it for other applications.. Its not as if Lexus was going to make Altezza lights for every other car out there! Same deal with Porsche.. Now if someone was to take the porsche part FOR THE PORSCHE and copy it.. that would be the wrong! just like copying the original copy for the FD is wrong too!

What do you mean by "wrong"?

As far I know, if there is no copyright or patent on it, it's legally OK to make copies and profit from it.

If Porsche has a patent on the vent design of their GT2 car, it would be illegal to make a similar hood for the RX7 as Scoot has done without getting approval from Porsche first. I doubt that Scoot has gone the trouble of obtaining a license from Porsche to produce the hoods if there is a patent on the design. I doubt that there is a patent on the vent design of the hood.

Now, if there is no patent on the vent design, I see no reason ( legal or moral), why it couldn't be copied, improved upon and sold for a profit.

Actually, I would applaud the person for doing so since we, the members of the RX7 community, would be the ones to benefit from it.

try making something yourself one day. Spend hours designing a refining it... then some jerk comes. Uses your model to make a mold and then makes mad $$ off of it.... Its just called being a poor businessman!

Hey, if I make a new or innovative design, I would have it patented or copyrighted so that only I can profit from it.

However, if it can not be protected under the copyright/patent laws, it's fair game for all.

It's called capitalism.

About replicas,if it was so "illegal" then why are companies allowed to make replicas of old Cobras,Lambo's,Model-T's,Jaguar etc etc etc I can go on and on man.

But serioulsy,Chuck has been an awesome business man with my friends and I and I reccomend him to anyone.

Chuck, you're the man.Someone who actually follows through with getting products made and out when he says he will.

If you did some research, you'd find that kit car manufacturers who infringe too closely on a design by Ferrari or Lamborghini or others are sued quite often.

They're allowed to make replicas, but making a replica doesn't mean that they can build a car with absolutely identical proportions and measurements. A replica is something that looks somewhat like the original, but isn't a carbon copy. Side by side, you can tell the difference between the genuine item and the clone.

In other words, you can't buy a F360 Modena and make bucks off the Ferrari body panels and then produce a kit car of the exact shape and size, even if you mounted it on a Fiero frame. Not and expect Ferrari to not care about it.

Jim,Well I didnt do a search cause its not that big of a deal to me.I've seen many Cobras side by side before, some that were originals and some that were replicas made by some company out in Cali, they were having a booth at a show.Anyways, the cars looked identical so much that you couldnt tell the differance.

I have though, seen the lambos thrown on the fiero frames and those just look comical so I can see why Lambo wouldnt give a ****.
