Pic of my FD in drag attire.
Not dressed in drag
Before I get flamed for the giant decals they are not permanent - just for the race - gota represent the sponsor (dealership).
Not a great night overall - got beat in the 1st round by a mean VW notchback with wheelie bars and all (needed them too). He ran a 12.3 to my 12.9.

I give up... works in test area but not here - see pic below - thanks pheonixdown!

how do you go about getting a sponsor?
dont mean to get down on you but all that for 12.9 is PATHETIC
and with all those mods too...are you sure you dont have a blown motor or something? is the car automatic?

i wasnt happy with my time either. ive run less than that with drag radials and was expecting to run low 12s or better with the slicks. not sure what is wrong yet but plan to find out. I know my water injection was not working but that shouldnt have made that much of a difference.

you probably bogged on your launch...if you're used to using drag radials, and you launched at roughly the same rpm on slicks, there is your time difference. the slicks gave you a ton more traction, which equates to bog if you don't compensate with more rpm's

Before.. you guys start flaming this guy for his TIMES..
PUT UP your TIME SLIPS and mods....
I find it very irritating, when people think they run this and that. Just by their MOD LIST..
SORRY racing doesn't work that way. You only as fast as your last race..
and its not as EASY and simple alot of people (RICERS) think.
BTW: what kind of 60ft time did you have?

Drag racing isn't really hard at the amatuer level but it isn't really easy to launch a high powered turbo car either. ETs live and die by the launch, bog it a little and you'll add 1 sec pretty easily.

60ft was 1.98.
As for you flamers, times were not bad in comparison to the rest of the field. there was a twin turbo 350z with nos that was running 12.1s and 2s and a 300zx with the same setup that ran low 12s most of the night with the exception of a 11.95 once. These were experienced racers wheras this was only my second time out.
temp was in the 80s and high humidity.

Yes, not everyone is meant for drag racing...but it does take practice.
With every bolt on, and a very good driver, the fd with stock turbos can hit low 11s. How much psi are you running? Sounds like about 10-12psi.
If your sponsered dont you think you should use some of that money towards a single turbo?
I dont know how you get put in a class with a tt 350z with nos, and your still poopin it on stock turbos?
I am just wondering...
And if glass man is correct about a single turbo fd in the 12s you better check your compression, and find a new tuner...

What was your mph? Maybe the bog and a slipping clutch hampered your cars full performance.
I had a 79' T/A with a BB pontiac and it ran 12.3 @120mph on BFG comp T/A radials. I then put some Mickey Thompson sportsman street slicks and the car either bogged or burned the clutch. I blew the cluth after about two months LOL.
anyways, the car looks clean, and you should put some painted enkie spares on the front.....
EDIT: BTW, so many people on this site are just egotistical bullshitters. It only shows their weakness, when they think they look so cool. The real gearheads on this site know exactly what i'm talking about. I'm sorry, but that is just what i see all over this site half of the time..... otherwise, the site is great.
