Pfc F-CON any good??

Has anyone had experience with the HKS Pfc F-CON? If so, is it good, does it suck, when it comes down to basic bolt-ons?

i had one about a year back for a while. my mods were intercooler, downpipe, midpipe, and catback. I thought it was a good computer at the time for the price i payed. only thing about it is that it does not controll timing. I never had any problems with it when i ran it tho. it all depends on the cost you are paying for it. used you can find a pretty good deal. but new, i would go with the power fc.

Which F-CON? The F-CON IV or the F-CON PRO V?

The F-CON IV is 8-bit and is good for the price you can get it for used if you have basic bolt-ons and some minor porting (HKS does offer a single turbo chip for it, too).

The PRO V kicks the Power FC's *** for about the same price.

Why what make it better than the Power FC????

I've never heard ANYONE say anything outstanding about any kind of F-Con. What all does it do? This is the first I've EVER heard of a F-con thats better than the Power FC

Sorry Stephen, I didn't catch your post because I was away for a while and I'm scatterbrained.

The F-CON V PRO is not available in the USA yet, which is probably why you haven't heard of it. I know of quite a few prolific rotary peoples in Japan and the F-CON V PRO is by far their system of choice over the Power FC (or anything else for that matter). Tuner shops in Japan use the F-CON V as the base to produce their own engine management computers. Over there, HKS seems to be more respected for their electronics (as they should be in my opinion), and for some reason it's A'PEXi over here. I think it just happens that A'PEXi was a bit quicker about bringing it's newer series of electronics (Power FC, S-AFC, etc.) to the US market than HKS has been, probably because of the vast difference in tuning environments between Japan and the US.

Hopefully they will bring some version of the F-CON V here, soon!

Actually, I know of a couple of places here in the US that can import the F-CON V Pro. The F-CON V Pro is a 32 bit ecu compared to Apexi 16 bit Power FC. I don't know much detail cause my catalog is in Japanese, but I can make out the 32bit though. IMO, it's the best ecu for the price. You just have to find the software though, but the guy I know can get the software for me.
