Cool Pettit Cold Air Intake $400 Worth It ?

I have a stock air box with K&N air filter and Racing Beat air inlet duct. Cameron @ Pettit said the air inlet duct take the air away from the intercooler so there for the duct actually hurt the car more than help. What do you guys think ? Is he trying to get my $400 ? Or he is right.

Get rid of the RB duct. It is a piece of crap. Do my stock airbox intake mod for $70. You already have a K&N, so it will be perfect for you. A stock airbox with my mod plus K&N will outperform the Pettit.

I wish you have some pictures so I can see what it look like. You said you open up the box. Do you means you just take out the top part of the air box ?

Go do a search for Damian and his heat shield.

That's what I did, and it seemed to work ok and cheap too. I got a good deal on a CWR intake though, so I'm taking out my old set up.

Oh crooked willow racing.

Search up "Damian" or "Damian AND heat shield".

He made a good custom set up which is pretty similar to the Petit, for half the cost, if not less.

the Pettit intake is a total rip-off

buy a hard pipe kit and couple of K&N filers for $40....better and cheaper.....the heat shield is worth $2 (maybe)

Thanks Quickfini. I just checked out CWR web site. They didn't list the price so I e-mail them for pricing info. Do u by chance know how much they are ?

Oh, I didn't mean the CWR was necessarily better. I switched cuz I got it for a good price. The custom intake I did worked well for me. The CWR intake goes for around $350-400 I believe.

But if you were interested in the Pettit, just do a search for Damian, as he made his own which is similar.

Here, I found this for ya.

not to be mean, but it looks like crap. $400 is alot of money for something. it may be functional, but it still looks like ***. i would be embarrassed to pop my hood with that thing. my 2 cents

400 bucks... probally not too much performance upgrade. your pretty much buying the name. personnaly id do a airbox mod or just buy dual K&N cone airfilters.

I was one of the dumb asses who actually forked over $400 for that ugly turd...haha this was about 5 years ago when I didn't know about all the different choices I had. It actually was embarassing how ugly it was. I got rid of it and just did the hard pipes with K&Ns...I even ditched the heat shiled and couldn't tell a difference at all, with it on or not. I just checked out adam's air box mod which looks to be a nice inexpensive choice.

I had the Pettit one. I don't like it. For $400 bucks, it seems super cheap. A few pipes and a weak heat shield. I eventually went with the M2 one. Looks so much cooler and I believe it is literally cooler too. I'll sell my Pettit kit for $200 shipped without K&N filters if you want.
