What year is your car? If you car has the 8-bit ECU version, then you should be able to use a 93 non-Cali or 95 based Pettit ECU.

There are so many different numbers for ECU's and I've never seen a fully compiled list. I've seen bits and pieces like in this thread:

https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/how-determine-type-ecu-164325/

If you have a 92-95 FD, then the US ECU should work. The main differences will be EGR and AWS. Most JDM cars did not have either of those. The 93 non-California ECU's did not have the electrical component for EGR and it was removed on all US 95's. The worse case is that it throws a check engine light for the EGR (AWS will throw a code, but not trigger the CEL), which if you car is JDM, it most likely won't have a CEL anyways.

ecu will work in the jspec from 92-95. A/c might not work for a Jspec 94. I had a pettit ecu in my 94 RHD Jspec and the A/C didn't work afterwords. He hauled *** though

Since your from Canada, you most likely have a 92 which means the petit ECU will work just fine and everything will function normally. However, you should consider a PowerFC in case you need it in the future and its just a good thing to have since the petit map is generic and runs rich to support most cars. I've seen then for sale used for $600 with commander, thats damn cheap and WORTH it.

the petitt ecu has boost unlimited i wana run stock setting 10 psi, but how will ecu control the wastegate or does it? all info i read says just put a boost controller, i need more of an explanation on how the petitt works with boost control compared to stock ecu, im hoping petitt ecu will still control the wastegate solenoid, is this correct? but not the boost solenoid, hens the reason for only the boost control ?

ok that doesnt make much sense, what i need to know is how the petitt ecu controls prespool of secondary, if ebc is only controlling the boost, how does the ebc control the remainder of the sequential system

The Pettit ECU controls all the basic functions as the stock ECU, it has only been modified by Pettit to change the fuel and timing/ignition when more boost is added. It supposed to max out the injectors at 14 psi.
It still uses all the stock sensors and will give you all the trouble codes, it's just a souped up stock ECU.
You can call Pettit Racing directly and they can answer all these questions.

ive tried to contact them but they are so busy,i installed the ecu it runs way better at idle, havent taken it out yet, waiting for boost controller, i just dont know if the boost will go to what petitt set it for or will it stay at 10-8-10, but can handle more boost if i turned it up? thanx

Without a boost controller, the ECU will give you stock boost. With a boost controller you can change the boost. The sequential system is handled independently of wastegates (sort of). The ECU tells the second turbo to come on (simplified explanation) and the mechanical stuff takes care of the rest. Just make sure the person that installs it the EBC knows how to do it.
