Why is the subject of this thread "Peter Farrell"?
Shouldn't it be "PFS products for the FD"?

Ed

BTW, PFS catback is well made. It is a straight through design with 3 inch diameter pipes with a 4" tip(which i don't like)

Lighter, and as good or better flow:
http://66.216.67.51/product.asp?3=333

http://66.216.67.51/product.asp?3=669 (80mm/3.1" piping)

and if you REALLY want flow (though technically a CB/mid pipe combo), titanium construction and 4" piping

http://66.216.67.51/product.asp?3=332

all of which are uglier then sin, IMHO. Of course, aesthetics is purely subjective, and the only qualifier in the post I reponded to was 'unit weight' and 'flow'.

Like I said, PFS products are generally nicely made from what I've seen. Merely a counter for RyanREX's enthusiasm. By his statement, there is nothing else out there that even comes close.

And this is (how I read the original poster's question), only about PFS products - on the car he bought elsewhere, so let's keep it as such people (unless the original poster wishes to clarify differently).

They may flow better if the engine needed it but as PFS said they dynoed 600 plus rwhp then removed the cat back and made the same hp. It's like blowing out of a 10 foot diameter pipe vs a 12 ft..really no diff.
I also agree they have that fart can look and they cost an arm and a leg...

is it the IC that has red end tanks?

Overall, PFS products are pretty high quality stuff, great welds, fitment is great, unlike other IC products. I've had the cat-back for over 6 plus years with no problems, great welds on it too.

Some people have had problems with Peter and some don't like his products but I have never had any problems with either.

I would take my car to PFS anyday.

I like the sound of the exhaust straight piped, it sounds mean

You should be very happy with the PFS products. The intercooler and exhaust are particularly nice pieces (have both on my car)

Peter is in this country and stands behind his products. I have been shocked at some of the offshore crap that you fight to get and then only get documentation in japanese and there is no human (that speaks english) to hear the complaints.

Enjoy the car

You couldn’t of bought an RX-7 from a better shop. I have noun Peter for the past 5 years and I have also recently bought a 7 from him. I have all his bolt on products and I have never had any problems. Like most of you have mention on the post, most if not all of his products are of high quality. I agree with “93 R1” I would take my car to PFS anyday….Have fun w/ your RX7.

I've had a PFS catback for 6 years now. Bought used too for $275. It flows great but I'm not crazy about the drone at high way speed. And I think it's gotten louder thru the years: could it be the packing getting blown out? If I had to do over, I would consider the RB twin tip. Very, very quiet. I don't need the additional noise, not with the turbo whine (from the PFS dp which is an ATR dp), blow off valve, coil overs, quick-shifter clattering and hatch back squeaking ... Just my preference ...

Thats kinda twisted how that worked out. The ATR downpipe was something those dirtbags stole from me. After I made a couple prototypes up they advertised being able to do the mass manufacture of it. They ended up stealing the prototype of it, the jigs for it and about 30 or 40 laser cut flanges. Of course they played dumb like the criminals they are and said they lost all of it and suddenly they are making copies of it a couple months later. The Buick world has known for a long time how filthy ATR is. They actually are known by the name of As#$les Trying to Rip you off. My two cents : )

Being that we're on the PFS subject, does anyone know where I can get the airbox that goes with the intercooler? Don't need the rest of the intake system, just the fiberglass box. One would think that you could go to PFS for it, but, no...they don't have it. Ahh, the aftermarket!

Yes, got the turbo's back about 3 weeks or so ago. Won't put the car back together till sometime deep in winter though. Working on buying another house right now.
