Damn man. That's Awesome. I've got the template now, printing it up tomorrow at work (gotta abuse work resources!) and I'll be making it asap! Just grab some cheap-o piece of sheetmetal from Home Depot?

yep, home depot has some sheets for like $3-$4

I made my shield from the Home Depot stuff. Cost me $5 but I almost have twice what I need. I was curious what gauge the metal you used was? Mine is 30gauge and is VERY flimsy. I was thinking of putting some holes in it and rivetting a few more strips of it along there to strengthen it a bit or something? Anyone else's shield way flimsy?

hmm, dunno what gauge i used but my shield holds its shape pretty well, and when it is bolted in it is fairly solid... ill see if i can get the gauge next time im at the dpot...

Hi - just wanted to add my thanks as well damian. People like you are the reason why this board rocks and the FD is such a fun car.

I was going to do the K&N mod but got discouraged about doing the shield - but no longer now that I've got your template.

well guys, this was a great thread and i though I would add that I am installing a medium IC soon and need to remake the sheild to fit with the new IC, any one want to see a template of the new "medium IC friendly" sheild?
