pca pill question
I recently went to a midpipe set up (stock cat was a mess completly plugged).
I have hks pfc f-con and hks evc boost controller installed.
anyway I have been scouring the forums for info on controlling boost spikes and pills etc...
with the boost controller I still get the spikes up to 14psi and I was wondering if removing the pca pill will that elminate the spike?
any help would be great.
like I said I've done numerous searches but nothing answered my question .

Removing it should certainly cure the spike (quick fix), but that doesn't work you need to be sure nothing is wrong to prevent pressure from building in the pc actuator. If the hose from the compressor to the actuator pops loose, or the pill is rotated in the hose, the pressurized air from the compressor won't push the actuator to open the pc door at all. I would tee into one of the lines coming off the PCA, run a boost test, and verify that it receives/holds pressure in the 3500-4500rpm range.
Only play with adjusting it if you're sure that basic function is working.
Drilling it out or substituting a larger orifice will allow you to tune it to the proper size. However, be careful since the PC pill orifice size is a very sensitive adjustment. Holley carb jets or a very sensitive MBC is probably the best solution.

thanks for the help.
I was hoping I could replace the hose to the PCA and use the boost controller to adjust the boost. I may just have to add some restriction to the exhaust.
