Question Owning 2 3rd gen's: good idea or bad idea?

As a preface, I know there are some members here who own 2 3rd gens and I am looking for opinions/experiences.

I currently own a VR '93 R1, basically stock, fluidyne radiator, silicone hoses, K&N intake, GAB R's (changing to Koni yellows), 89K with 10K on reman engine. I have an opportunity to purchase a SSN '93 PEP, fluidyne radiator, Greddy turbo timer, N-tech catback, 83K with 23K on reman engine.

The guy's asking $13K firm. Having not seen it yet and just talking to the guy on the phone, it sounds like a decent deal. It's been serviced meticulously and compression was checked recently (at MZM performance, where I go for work that I can't do), and compression was good. So, the obvious question ... should I or shouldn't I?

BTW, in the event of a horrendous disaster where both ReX's could be non-functional, I still have the beater ... '89 Pontiac TA (aka "the Fire-chicken")

If you'll be able to afford it, I don't see why not. Go for it.

Having 2 FD's is fun. I have one that is modded completely (single turbo, body kit, etc, and the other just has reliability mods, new shocks and tires (Basically stock). It is a little more expensive than having just two cars but alot of fun.

i was in a similar situation but decided to go on the side of practicality and get something with 4 seats. if you've got the money i would go and get something different and new but still great performance wise such as an s2000 to have some variety.

i will have multiple fd's one day though

Since you already have the back up car, save the money and put it in mods for the existing 7. Of course, never hurts to have the parts car.

I was thinking more along the lines of the auto-x/track car and then the drag car. Course that would be a while down the line .... gots to save up da cash.
