Opinions wanted on FD engine bay
Over this winter I am tearing apart my engine bay and cleaning everything up. I want to enter some smaller car shows, and just generally make it look better. Im just looking for opinions on what color/types of coating everyone has/likes on the aluminum in the car, especially the intakes. I was originally just going to have them polished or ceramic coated chrome, but thats sort of overdone. On my old FC, I had the intake manifolds powdercoated black, and I really loved how it looked, but that was on my silver FC, I think black would just blend in with my BB FD and look bland.. Although I am going with a whole black "theme" on my FD ( black car, black interior, black wheels w/polished lip, leaving lip low gloss along with Feed FG sideskirts and a RE rear diffuser). Basically just looking for any opinions or new ideas on how to go with the engine bay scheme. Thanks

dubulup and vintagered both of those engine bays look awesome. I like the red powdercoat on vintages'. Dubulup yours is extremely customized but, keeps the stealth look. Very nice gentlemen.

Just to give you an idea, here is what the engine bay of my black FD looks like (the picture is slightly old). Ceramic coated intake manifolds (and exhaust manifolds), all engine components are powdercoated silver or red, red silicone hose, red silicone couplers, polished pipes and intercooler, etc. The rest of my FD has hints of red and silver as well (Red calipers, etc). I get lots of positive comments on the color scheme everywhere I go.

Your not going to get much more of a polished engine than the one that the glass man posted. I personally went with powder coating my "intake path" and matching my center of my rims to that color. Over all I like it and would do it again if i had the chance. Just play around with photoshop and your mind and see what color combos you can come up with. Also look into anodizing, it will give it a different look and could be something you like.

If you cleaned it with a little elbow grease I'm sure it would be pretty damn close!!!
