For the last two oil change during the breaking od my rebuilt motor from KDR, I have went with Redline 10W-40 synthetic and Mobil1 10W-30 synthetic because dave ran out of the Redline oil. So this time I am going to try Castrol GTX 20W-50 non-synthetic. I notice that many forum members are using this type of SAE. So I decided to try it for myself. And I live in Pennsylvania and from now on all we have is cold weather. So my question is that can I use the 20W-50 through the winter or should I go with less thicker oil like 10W-40. Anybody lived in the New England area I need your input and what type of SAE are you guys using for this time of the year. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I use mobil 1 10w-30 all year round and it's perfectly fine. I drive my rex when it stop snowing or sometimes while it snows going home from work.
