I'm so undecided as to wether it screws up the car's lines or not, link to my caR:

Im kinda confused...So you have a painted front lip? Or you just have that one in the pictures? Well at any rate, the one in the pictures looks awesome. Oh, and the white thing its attached to looks pretty clean I guess too....

Wings are a visual preference (stock wing/no stock wing) has no real performance gain. Can't say what the larger wings will do for you and agin it's a personel visual thing. So if your asking the forum to decide what goes on your car you will get plenty of responses. It still comes down to what you want to do with your car.

It's the OEM R1 rear spoiler i'm talking about, it offers *0* performance benefit?

If I ever do a complete paint of my car, I think my spoiler will go. Just a preference thing.

Yup, the R1 spoiler provides no aero benefits... for looks only. The '99 spec spoiler actually provides some downforce.

I's say go for it, unless you plan on going with a '99 spec front bumper. I have a huge fetish for white, wingless, '99 spec FD's.

I'd say don't do it. My car came wingless and I regret ever putting it on now. And those dang electrical tape hole covers are killing me now

I'd really like a 99spec spoiler but they're SO damn expensive

I say put it on.

I have a white wingless FD as well, looks just like yours actually, just lowered and some other stuff. Anyways i honestly want a wing very bad for mine. But of course, i also do like the wingless look. Actually, i can't really make up my mind on which i like better.

To tell you the truth, i just hate thinking of drilling holes in my nice and flat hatch.

Anyways, i'm sure if you do it, it'll look great, and if you dont, it'll still look great. So good luck makin a decision, and if you do put it on, post some pics. It's always good to represent the white FD's of the world.

At like 60 I'd tend to agree. But I can't agree with "0" benefit. Is there any hard data between no spoiler, the R1 and '99 spec?

I read the R1 wing creates drag???

I think light colored wingless FD's are a little strange looking...now black FDs withrims, 99 front...maybe a widebody, skirts, etc...WOW

0 benefit? For street driving, sure the benefit wouldn't be realized. However, it doesn't take much on the rear of a car to create enough downforce to be noticeable.

More downforce means lower speeds. That's the balance race teams play when setting cars for up tracks as to they go for more downforce, or more top end speed.

The people are saying "0" benefit as a blanket statement are wrong.

Little benefit at the speed limit or below I can understand and agree with.

Personal preference, again I agree with.

But some of you are just plain ignorant to make a comment that it has "0" benefit.

It will look good either way. Personally I'd say your car looks good the way it is (cleaner without the wing).
I leave mine on because it came that way (R1). I'd probably prefer either a diff wing or none at all, but I'm resisting the temptation to **** with it just because it's stock with only 70k miles.

I have a black one with 18 x 8.5(FRNT) 18 x 9.5(rear)wheels, stock body, soon to be lowered, and no wing. It looks mean and wide due to the offset and deep dish rims. I really think dubulup is right about the light ones looking strange. Black looks sweet. I know I am biased. Oh well.

In a book about racecar aerodynamics they had a example using a R1 and they stated that the front lip provided downforce and that the rear wing provided no downforce and they provided the numbers and i can get them for you guys later

the rear looks skinnier and weaker without the wing from behind shots

I've driven the car at 140 plus with and without the wing, and there was no difference in feel of the car (as far as providing more or less stability.) It's strictly a looks thing.
