Opinions?

I NEED OPINIONS ON IF I NEED MORE FUEL AND HOW TO GET IT.

I have Apexi intake, Custom NPR FMIC, DP, Hi flow cat, CB, and the newest Peter Farrel PMS (pink?). It has boost settings for 10,12,14 lbs. Supposedly 300, 330, and 360 rwhp respectively.

I'm running stock fuel system. Should I:

A) Upgrade pump to the big denso one.
B) Upgrade to 1300 secondaries. What will I need?
C) Additional injectors in elbow. What will I need?

What do you guys think?

Also what will I need to get to make these work? (ex. Greddy rebic or AIC?)

I would do 'a' and 'b' because you need more fuel!!

A) yes I would...cosmo pump is a drop in and should be enough to handle stock turbos...

b) Yes have 850cc enlarged to 1300'c.. I dont know how well the EFI handles this however..would be easlier with the PFC. you need to ask PFS or EFI if the box can handle that.

c) I'm not a bic fan of that idea...but it's possible but you will need additional injector controllers (AIC) from the likes of greddy or HKS...rebic...you go the idea.

Peter said it won't work.

None of his boxes work with bigger injectors. He says if I keep boost under 15psi i'll be o.k. with the stock fuel system. Over 14-15 just use race gas. but not for extended periods of time.

What do you guys think.
I'm thinking about a Profec B or AVC-R (which do you guys prefer?) to control spikes and just upgrade the pump for now so I can use the PMS.

????????

I'm thinking you're going to have a blown motor if you try running over 13psi on the stock secondaries. I don't care what octane you use, the stock injectors are at or over 85% at 13psi. BOOM!

Get the larger fuel pump and use the 10 psi setting on the PFS until you can get a PowerFC.

like others have said...get 1300's just to run 13-14 lbs...for those special occasions.. 14-15 everyday is really too much for the stockers... you are compromising the life of the turbos..(run to hot)

the only additional mod to me that you have is an intercooler and you can run 300 rwhp at 10psi?????????

I ran in January 288 at 12psi with intake, dp, hi flow cat, cb, and pettit ecu. I don't understand, I did not think that intercoolers gave you that much power increase

What can I use to control larger injectors? Can I run a SAFC with my PMS to control them?

I'm just trying to use the parts that I already have.

Actually I haven't even bolted these parts on yet (intake, computer, etc). They are sitting at my house. I was just trying to get some advise before I blow it up.

Is it a waste of time trying to use the PMS to make this kind of power safely?

The horsepower ratings that Peter Farrell list for the PMS are at the engine, not the wheels. So, it's 300,330,360hp at the motor!

?

How is it flywheel hp? So lets say 14 psi...thats 306 rwhp.

If you check out the staged upgrades at any rx7 site they get 330-360 rwhp (depending on site) using: intake, intercooler, DP, MP,CB, and power fc on 14 psi.

So you are telling me that if I use Power FC instead of PMS it will give me about 50 more rwhp with the same exact set up?

WTF?

Gee, it wouldn't be because they are trying to sell you something. With those mods, you are not going to be getting 350 RWHP, it's just not going to happen. If that were true, you'd be getting around 420 at the flywheel. Not likely. If you want to be running more than 13-14 psi than you need to ditch the computer for a fully-programmable one (PFC, Haltech, etc.).

Look...90% of the time you are not going to get the numbers advertised by the tuners...plain and simple..we all know they fudge a little...if think will all those mods and 14psi...you are more likely then not to get around 330ish +/- 10....and that's on a good day

Upgrade that ECU and keep that boost low until you fix your problem. Remember it's a rotary and will blow up the first time you lean it out

Be warned the first time I raced my PFS PMC at the high setting I blew my motor. That was when I knew nothing and it cost me dearly.

Like I said this was over two years ago before I knew anything about these complex cars. I had two FCs before and had no problems. My FD was stock and I put the PFS PMC on and went to the strip. Ran a few times at the lower settings and then tried a run at the high setting. At the 1/8 mile something popped. That was it for that motor. Turned a 107mph in that fateful run.

How much do you know about cars? Here's two sites. Go read everything on both and you won't have any more questions.

www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/index.html
www.rx7turboturbo.com/robrobinette

Good luck.
