oil pressure sender unit
how much is a new one? i keep seeing 0psi... and then when i check the wire to the sender unit and disconnect/reconnect it, it goes back to "normal" 30 @ warm idle, 60 cruising, 120 WOT, and 120 @ cold start idle (with oil at "F' level on dipstick, with castrol gtx 10W30). anway, i keep worrying that im low or out of oil, or my oil pump isnt pumping. where are all the connections related to the oil pressure sender unit?? just at the sender unit and the gauge cluster? or are there others?? thanks guys, heath

First, "fix" that connector on the oil pressure sender. Sounds like it's either oxydized or the wire is broken just before the connector. If the reading is still intermittant after that, a new sender unit would be required. Last time I checked, they were in the $80 range. I don't think you can sub an aftermarket one. It's easy to replace.

Here's an idea of the cost for a replacement:

I would imagine that the Malloy price will be very cost to David's estimate of around $80.

ok just added 20w50 .... now im seeing (after warmed up) 60psi idle, 90 cruising, and 100+ at WOT... when at "racing" temps im seeing 60 cruising, and 30 at idle. i think when it gets colder here i may switch back to 10w30. anyway are these normal/ok pressures? thanks, heath
