Oil Pressure Increase

Hi there,

Any ideas what would cause an increase in oil pressure, in an FD?

(I have a small amount of oil being blown out of the turbos (more than normal), and would like to understnd whether anything other than bad oil seals could cause this. Presumably if the oil pressure were to increase, then oil could be pushed by the oil seals?)

Thanks for any suggestions.

Majhik posted this info not too long ago, however, your oil pressure varies over the rpm range. Occassionally, under WOT you may bounce off the 120 psi mark. But, unless you are constantly at the upper end of the gauge, you should not be experiencing pressures that would affect your turbo seals. And you have a mechanical oil pump so I do not think that excessive pressures can even be achieved. That is, unless you have some very bizarre restriction that raises the pressure. The main purpose in having an oil pressure gauge is to assess that you are getting adequate pressure across the rpm range (i.e., that you are not having some problem with your oil pickup/flow).

Thank you for the reply.

Thats what I thought, but I always think no harm in asking as someone somewhere may have a piece of info that may help with the problem!

Thanks again.
