Oil pan... gasket or not? Also sealant
Should I use a gasket on my pan install? What are the advantages/ disadvantages?
What sealant? Red, black, or grey? Advantages to any? Set up time for sealant? Thanks again guys.

IMHO, the best sealant is Permatex's "The Right Stuff", which is now factory used by Daimler-Chrysler, GM, and others.
I have successfully used it on my RX7's oil-pan WITHOUT gasket, and no more leaks for over 5-months.
I also would use the Gotham oil-pan brace, (which I also have installed).

You probably should have searched this topic, but I'll save you the hassle: most use no gasket and there favorite color of RTV.
My Suggestion:
Permatex Ultra Black
1.) Don't let it "skin" before assembling like some suggest
2.) Also with the black there is no need to wait 24 hours before filling. More like 30 minutes.
A pan brace would be a good idea. Also seal the motor mount bolts.
