Jack up the car of course, make sure that it is secure on jack stands or ramps or whatever and look. Possible places are the drivers side motor mount/the oil pan. The motor mount bolts into the oil pan kinda.

I just had this problem - oil was dripping off the subframe to the right of the block (when stood at the front of the car). It was definatley not coming from the filter.

Now this is my Jap spec R1 (right hand drive) so it might be different, but in my case the power steering oil pump was giving up (there was about 10mm play in the pulley bearings) and PS oil was being thrown out in all directions, and running down the high pressure pipe which runs to the steering rack on the far right of the engine bay.

Something to look at anyway.

the oil filter is clean, but most of the wires and hoses in front, closer to the bumper, are covered in oil.
