oil contamination

Why does the oil get contaminated easily by gasoline in a rotary engine? Am I running to rich or is it normal for a rotary?

Well I've had lots of turbo rotaries (TIIs and FDs), mileage ranged from 140K to 35K miles, they ALL seem to get gas in the oil. The smell of gas in my 93 R1's oil is so strong I sent a sample off to Southwest Spectro Chemical for 4 consecutive oil changes, 10% fuel dilution each time.

I change my oil every 1500-2000 miles and use 20w-50 only.

My stock ECU powered R1, like all stock ECU'd cars running stock boost runs very rich under boost, from ~2500rpm to redline it pegs a wideband at 10:1, that is rich...

Thank's guys, I do change my oil every 1000km, coz I was afraid of the smell, and I use Redline 5W50.
