I am currently only running 12 - 13 lbs of boost but that is almost all of the time. Limiting factor is 1st and second gear - excessive tire spin -. I have a heavy right foot. I also am rarely below 4000 RPM. As soon as I find a competent tuner, boost will be turned up to 15 - 17 LBS. I have found ( with my engine ) that even running 12 - 13LBS. of boost after 800 miles the oil has degraded quite a bit. My turbo is small and generates a lot of heat. It is also oil cooled. I have the crooked Willow oil cooler kit. Nice kit but expensive for what you get. I will be installing an oil temp sending unit soon. 4 quarts of oil = $28.00 not including filter. Cheap insurance when you hammer something constantly.
