Ohlin coilovers - OEM on any JDM FD?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...5350575&rd=1,1
I am usually against buying used suspension but these are OHLINS! So I figure I take the risk...besides, it's cheap! Anyway, does anyone know if these are OEM spec suspension from one of the JDM-only, super duper cool FD versions or it's aftermarket?
Thanks.

I was looking at the Ohlins coilover kit from FDNewbieimports.com a few months ago.
I cross referenced it to tthe Ohlins website, there it stated that there were no coilover kits specifically designed for the FD.
I know PANSPEED and Ohlins partnered together to make a suspension (track application) but it was not either one companies sole effort.
The Price tag for the set of coilovers from PANSPEED and Ohlins is 2300.00 from FD Newbie (if memory serves me correctly)
hope this helped.

I have a set on my FD. They do have coilovers specifically for the FD. Look at their JM website. Oh and by the way, they look nothing like the Ohlin's that I have on my car. Doesn't mean anything just an observation.

I've got the exact same set of on my car and you can't go wrong. Considering their my first coil overs I've ever bought and going from worn stock suspension to these babies....It really made a world of difference.
The only bad thing about them is you have to completely take the whole thing off to adjust the height which can be a pain in the ***. There are about 32 clicks of adjustments on the top which to this day I'm still searching for that perfect setting.

When I first read this, I was thinking "remote resevoir" Ohlins.
Looks like the stock coils to me, similar to the Koni "yellows" which has an INFINITE range, but a LIFETIME warranty.
Be sure to take OFF the springs and test the shocks to make sure they are still in good shape.
Good luck,
:-) neil

as far as I know that isn't entirely true.

Looks like they were built for a specific competition class where the rules stipulate that you can use aftermarket "shocks" but not aftermarket springs (I think US auto-x classes used to be this way), so somebody used the stock spring but built adjustable perches to go with the Ohlins coilover body.
