Odometer question (from 5 speed conversion)
Hi guys,
I did a 5 speed conversion awhile back and so the odometer has higher miles than the car really has. I was wondering if there was a way to fix it.
Thanks,
Nick

Yes, but it will cost you a lot. There are places that advertise on the web, most of them in NYC, that will "fix broken odometers". What they really do is provide a service to "driveway hustler" car dealers for rolling back miles on used cars to get a higher resale value. I'll try and find some links for you. Most charged $300 and will set the mileage to whatever you want, just mail them your cluster and they'll mail it back in a few days. The other more legit method would be to go to your Mazda dealer and explain the situation. They may offer to sell you a new odo/speedo gauge with 0 miles and put a sticker on the car certiying what the previous mileage was so if you sell the car it would be odo mileage + what the sticker said. This will get you a "NAM" (not actual mileage) title in some states which seriously reduces the resale value of your car.
