Non-sequential Conversion w/Stock ECU: A Lil' Help Needed...
Hi,
So, I'm doing a non-sequential conversion and I plan on running these turbos with the stock ECU. I've been following the step-by-step procedure outlined on Kevin Lander's site:
http://rotaryresurrection.com/3rdgen...ov_nonseq.html
I'm basically done with everything at this point, but I'm having a lil' trouble figuring out what connectors need to have resistors installed in order to allow the ECU to function properly. On his site it states that you need to install resistors in to 8 solenoid connectors. I've done this. Now, when I spoke to my friend yesterday, he advised me that there might be 3-4 more connectors in to which I need to install additional resistors.
Can someone please confirm for me whether that information is correct? I can tell that I have the airpump connector just hanging there as I removed the pump. Does this connector need a resistor? What I'm basically trying to determine is whether I need to install a resistor in to any connector I'm no longer using?
Thanks in advance!,

Just the 8 colorful connectors that connect to the rats nest, nothing else and it will be fine. I have been doing this for years. Also cap off the side nipple on the wastegate actuator and delete the turbo contorl/precontrol, and normal turbo control solenoid. I have a remapped stock ecu in my car at the moment and I deleted damn near everything and it works perfect. Make sure the resistors are 330ohm 1/2 watt and you will be good to go.

Awesome David...thank you very much! Another quick question, if you could help:
"There are 7 colorful connectors, square shaped, all the same size. I confirmed with my friend, but would like to confirm with you. Is the 8th, black in color, square connector, but about half the width of the others?"
Thank you!

You will not pull a CEL, there will be some stored but wont effect anything. Most cant believe I can even run the stock ecu without going hay wire when they see my engine bay, I have nothing left.
I will have to double check another harness later today to verify the 8 connectors but I thought they were all in a row, could just be 7, who knows what you forget with age.

I think that solves it right there! Car doesn't have an EGR as manifold and harness are both JDM.
I'd still like to confirm on the smaller black square shaped connector though, if possible. Would a pic help for identification purposes?!?

if you would like, you can come over take a look at my harness again. The black harness on my jdm does have a resistor on it. I also got 7 plugs. Ran my engine today and got CEL. Ran the codes and got the codes for both turbo control solenoid. I'm gonna put resistors on those so I won't get the codes.

If you do decide to port the waste gate ( well worth it) and run a nice flowing exhaust/intake , invest in a nice Boost controller or there will be creep.
There is a serious comparison thread somewhere on this. Search for it.

I would suggest doing quite a bit of research on it to determine whether it's something you'd like to do in the first place. It does have its negatives, but in my case I didn't want the complications associated with running the twins sequentially and at the same time, didn't need to go single-turbo on this FD so I chose this route. It'll be my first non-sequential FD so it should be interesting. I'm also not shooting for major power, just reliable and fun

Thanks Chau! Couldn't have done this without your help along the way
Just an update: Got the car running yesterday on the first crank! I'm super excited and so far so good. It's running/idling well and no CEL yet. We're going to run it for the next few days on the lift to make sure all fluids are topped off and nothing is leaking or causing issue. I'm hoping to maybe be able to drive it this weekend.
