Non sequential Kicks ***!. It makes so much sence...I'm so glad I went with it. Hell yeah. The lag is not bad at all.

I'll never go back to sequential.

I don't mind the little lag that I have. On the dyno, I was seeing full boost by 3,600-3,700rpms. I beleive with a ported motor it would be even less. I'm very happy with non-seq, and would only run seq if I had a near stock car. The rats nest sucks! CJ

how much lag did you have? Also when did your boost come on?

oops..sorry late post. Doesn't seem like that would be much lag to me. If I was racing I'd prime the rpms up anyway.

Anyone have any more pics or write up?

I thought this thread was going to get sticky status.

Rikki,

I have an Greddy BOV and my stock one...can I just tee off to each of those and eliminate the charge relief?

I've read the thread over and over and am psyched about doing this.

Mind if I shoot you an email if I get a snag?

Thanks!

Eddie

I did it when doing my engine R+R. I think it's one of the best mods I did. It's so much easier to work on the car now. No more huge mess under the UIM.
The lag isn't a problem. The turbo's aren't as responsive as it was in seq. mode, but no biggie.
They spool at around 3000-4000 RPM when I floor it.
I have a ported motor, so it's not that bad. I can drive around the city w/ no boost just fine.
Can't wait till I finish breakin in the motor to go WOT.
Got 400 miles to go!

Cap the stock one and the CRV, then use the Greddy BOV as your main BOV. I did the exact same thing and it works great.

I'm making more hp at 4k than a stock fd peak. Making as much torque as a stock car by 3,600. (Actually, I'm comparing my car nonseq, vs my car with a down pipe, and intake running seq.) I have'nt payed much attention, but I bet i'm making positive manifold pressure by 2,500. Next time I take it for a spin, i'll check it out though.

Artguy, don't you get full boost at like 3,200? I would'nt realy call that fast spooling.

What I would like to do is build a to4s, with a 75 shot for those times when you need a little help off the bottom end. Something that would put down around 500rwhp on the bottle, with a resonably quick spool. That would be nice. CJ

trying to take my rats nest out and what a major pain in the @ss!!!.....Holy crap all the screws holding them in are like welded in there...had to drill one out already.

Good thing I went in there...all my hoses are as hard as rocks...bye bye solenoids all breaking to pieces.

Even though I'm a non-sequential user, I'll have to agree with you. The sequential system(when working properly) is awesome. ANY lag sucks. BUT if you're experiencing boost problems that can't be solved, or you're getting boost creep, or your getting boost spikes, then the simple solution would be to go non-sequential.

My boost comes on a little later than I want, but I can pull my upper intake manifold off in about 5 minutes, not label anything, don't have to worry about a silicone hose job, don't have to worry about breaking solenoids, don't have to worry about anything EXCEPT Lag...and for me...I'll deal with the lag....peace of mine is more important.

ditto.

in addition we also benefit from :

-Turbos run cooler, flow better, less wear on them
-2 blow-off valve operation for free
-nice linear power band is great, helps keep traction while racing and / or on wet roads, long turns, freeway on/off ramps, less upset on chasis, etc

How is everyone doing?
Ugh...thank god I'm getting rid of the rats nest...never want to see that thing again.

Working on BOP for the stuff I don't need. Saw your site and see that you have solenoids for turbo precontrol and wastegate. Those the only two you need? oh and FPR....probably answered already in this long thread (needs sticky)

The diagram you posted is pretty simple and has helped a lot.

Going to try and put it all together by the end of next week after some engine cleaning.

Hope it runs like everyone says it will.

I'm gonna do it today,in hopes it's gonna eliminate the dangerous spike that i'm experiencing, plus hate all those vac/press lines that I had so many problems with.
Just wondering if it 's gonna work with the turbo sys. simplification http://www.rx7turboturbo.com/robrobi...lification.htm
Anyone tryed it yet?
Thanks Ryan you've been a GREAT HELP in my FD addventure[IMG]

Yeah, the Linear power is one of the better parts of being non-sequential.

Not going full nonsequential just yet...wanted to remove a bunch of crap for the single sometime next year. Just wanted to see if nonsequential was any fun or not.

I'm getting a bunch of stuff cleaned out and blocked off...which I wanted to do for a long time.

I changed my secondaries to 1300 and now am thinking about changing plug wires while its all open.

any recs on plug wires anyone?

Eddie

Any of you nonsequential peeps have dyno sheets. Just curious to see what everyone is doing.

Here is mine. Need a aftermarket cat back, running 12psi.

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/attach...postid=1124875

Ralph at excessive did a bit of tuning (not much) on the commander for me. Probably 8-10 runs worth. CJ
