are non pop-ups legal, even???

Man, I love the look of the "sleek" headlights, but I have to wonder if they are 50 state legal? One of my RX-7 books says, and I quote, "In order to comply with federal regualtions, pop-up headlamps were necessary to meet height requirements".
I would be flat PISSED to spend $1500 bucks or whatever it is, just to have some cop tell me, "Get rid of them, sonny...."

And does anyone know WHY an FD's headlights are just so....abyssmal?
I think two friggin' CANDLES would provide more light!

NOT good for a car that has the performance these do.....

I know for sure that the C-west lights are not DOT approved for any state. BUT how many cops will actually stop you anyway?

Had mine for almost two years now and not one has said anything...

Even if you lower your car it can take the headlights out of spec. I did fail inspection 1 time (in another car) because of it but never got a ticket. I think in Texas the hieght requirment was 22" or 24" from the ground. Therefore sleek lights aren't as high but i don't think any cop would even care as long as they lit up.

I've never been hassled with because of my sleek lights....If a cop asks me about them I'll just say they're stock......Most cops don't know **** about Rx7's Just my cents added........

even though they are not legal, you gotta think...how many cops will actually stop you. look at clear tail lights and blue headlights for example. before the IS300 and RX300 came out, ricers were getting stopped left and right for their tail lights. now look at them. also, look at the blue headlight bulbs that you see on a lot of civics. now, the cops could be fooled into thinking they are HID's like on BMWs, Mercedes, Audis...etc.

cops are not real car guys. they probably wont even notice that you have a set of sleek lights on your car. as said above, they dont know **** about RX-7s.

I am glad to hear that there haven't been any problems with the lights....I was just thinking that it COULD be like dark tinted windows and the like, where some cops just LOOK for anything to pull you over and hassle you.....

Lie to a cop?

If you lie to a cop and he/she knows it be prepared for some tickets. You'll probably be written up for everything thats even close. Oh, and they'll probably search it end to end for drugs (too bad about those trashed interior panels).
