well i am interested in performance thats why there is no subs in my car, there may be in the future but it will be made so i can easily take them out.

The nitrous was put in the car before i got it. with all of the things i have heard, i dont know if i want to risk it.

my only worry is i cant let the car break. And a ms is not just a piggy back its a lot more, and it is open source so anyone can make improvements to it

There are lots of guys running 100-150 shots on FDs, with the stock LS1 tune.

Does it replace your stock ECU?

Noooooooooooooo.

All it controls is fuel, period.

So you will still need your stock ECU to control ignition, oil injection, turbo control & probably 1/2 dozen other things I can't think of off the top of my head.

IM sorry, but MegaSquirt? That is one lame *** name.

Sounds like your already heading down that road with all your mods & no upgraded ECU. Nos would be the last thing on my mind.

Good luck.

In the event you damage your motor don't be surprised, when your "tuner" rethinks his offer to replace anything he breaks.

A rebuilt motor is over $4k installed.

As a matter of fact, Yes.........................If you want to call that dumb.

I could just see it now. Bunch of guys hanging out & I say (in my best mike Tyson voice) "Oh yea, well I got a MegaSquirt & it will kick your ***!!"

The way I see it Electronic Fuel Management is very technical & precise. I would "expect" the product to be labeled like wise. Not some cartoon name.

Did you look at their web site? They are selling you a processor that you have to program from scratch. IM no rocket scientist, but it looks like you would need one to get that thing to work. It's a bunch of crap from Radio Shack that was pieced together.

I did chuckle thinking..........
Your gonna have "Mega Hershey Squirts" when your motor blows.

???

Issue of nitros aside, not really sure you want to be the test subject for this 'rotary expert'. Make him sign a contract or something that he can't weasel out of, if you really want to be a pioneer. I'm sure he will not mind if he truly has the intention to pay if he breaks something.

I completely support exploring new advancements/etc, but the PFC (and others) do an excellent job as it is. Unless this Megasquirt system offers at least the promise of something truly original/ground breaking, I'd stick with the proven systems.
