New RX-7 Advice... Any and All Welcome!
Hi guys,
This is the first post since i've become a member. Im from England and have just bought my first RX-7 which im importing from Japan. This is the first RX-7 i've imported and really just wanted to know what should be the first things I should check to make sure all is well? The car has done 116K Kilometers (about 72K miles) but im not sure wether the engine has had a rebuild in Japan or not? Would a compression test be a good idea? Also any tips or information on servicing? As i said this is my first one so i've not got a clue... Always had piston engine turbo's such as supra's, skylines and MR2's, so any help would be appreciated.
The car spec is this:
1994 Type-R2 (2 seater model), 116K Kilometers, standard engine.
Also can anyone identify the exhaust is has? Picture below:

The first thing i would do is a compression test. Then i would check all fluids and replace as needed. I would also do a "bubble" test to see if the coolant seals are good. If the car is stock(which it doesnt look) i would get a boost gauge, Downpipe, bigger radiator and intercooler if possible and replace the stock plastic AST.
