New Problem, please help!!!

hey guys, i recently pulled my motor to install a new act clutch and to fix a big oil leak at the front cover. before i get into a problem let me ask a question about the clutch first. when i first started up the car after installing the new clutch i started it in nuetral and it started up and idle'd perfect, but when i put it in first gear it would make the rear wheels start spinning ( i had the whole car up on jackstands) so it was like the pressure plate wasnt being pulled far enough off the disk to not do anything. after that i read up on how to adjust the clutch pedal in the service manual, i had to unscrew the adjuster to almost comming out for it to not spin the tires with the clutch all the way to the floor in first gear. my question is, is that normal? the clutch is very shaky too while driving, i just want to know if this is normal or is something wrong.

Now for my problem, last night i went to a little dyno meet at a local shop and my car sat for about 3 hours so it was completely cooled off. on the way home i was driving normal and decided to show off to a friend next to me so i floored the gas when the power fc read the water temp. to be 76 degrees celcius on the commander. i didnt feel anything or hear anything but after that the car was not running right at all, it was all jittery on acceleration and the stock coolant temp gauge was going up and down but the power fc was reading a steady 82 degrees all the way home, at times it wanted to stall at stop lights so i had to keep the revs up. when i got home it was smoking really bad out the exhaust and i popped the hood and everything seemed fine. when i got home from work today ( i drove my beater to work) i started the FD up again and it was idling like crap and was smoking like crazy. does anyone know what could have happened?

my mods are:
gt35r turbo
hks twin power
resonated midpipe
power fc
act clutch
1600cc injectors
profec type s boost controller
blitz fmic
koyo radiator

you should know that my power fc is only mail order tuned by jason at rx7store.net (i plan on getting it dyno tuned very soon) and i have the profec type s set to lowest setting which was about .58 bars on the power fc commander during the summer, last night when i floored it, it wen to .65 bars which is like 9.5psi. i guess it was higher because it was pretty cold last night

First of all mate,,have a good look around the engine bay,,,,u may have just poped off a hose (the one in paticular that cause symptoms like you desribe is the MAP sensor on the fire wall behind the inlet manifold) if this pipe comes off it makes tha car run really rich and have a shitty idle,, check this first,,,,then check all around the inlet manifold for any air leaks.

LOL, i went outside right before you posted that to check the map sensor and it was off. this has happened to me before. thanks, but would this also make the stock coolant temp gauge go up and down?

No i dont think it could affect coolant temprature at all... how much was it rising and dropping by,,,,maybe you should refill and reburp the water system.( cant see why the power fc didnt read the same thing,,,i swear both the fc and the gauge take a reading off the same sensor),, maybe there something else at fault,,,maybe dodgy connection to sensor or instrument custer,,
,Start with burping all the air from the coolant make sure thats all ok

The PFC and the temp gauge do not use the same sensor, the sensor for the gauge is in the rear iron below the oil filter pedestal. It has one wire going to it. I'd check/clean that connector.
