OKAY!
finally got a chance to hook up a boost gauge to the UIM...to my surprise, I have a 10-8-10 boost pattern. sometimes spiking to 12 around 4500. I reinstalled my aftermarket fuel pump, and not much changed. Felt about the same. I doubled over all my vacuum lines, replaced the hoses to the MAP sensor and made sure it wasnt leaking and was routed properly, idle control sensor plug, etc, making sure to my knowledge that everything was in its proper location. I also very recently changed the spark plugs (200 mi. ago).

so, back to my original question, why does my car respond like a GAT DAMN normally aspirated car? Its still (duh nothing got changed) unresponsive as shiat. I cant figure it out. And my exhaust still glows bright orange. Could it be a clogged Pre-Cat and/or CAT? But if this were the case, then I wouldnt be getting a normal boost pattern right? Bad plug wires, coil packs? If I'm having ignition problems, would I still be getting a steady boost pattern of 10-8-10? Anyone have suggestions as to what I might check for? I've tried everything I can think of at this point, and am running out of ideas.

"And my exhaust still glows bright orange."

There's your problem man.

You should really be thinking of a downpipe. It will build boost even with a clogged cat. but it will respond in the way you are seeing.

OK, thats what I figured, so it couldn't be anything else... Well, am I gonna be okay to run a filter, port, free flow exhaust and DP with no cpu? I guess the answer is gonna have to be yes, since I have no money for a PFC at this point. But then again, I really dont have money for another rebuild either.

It is NOT safe to run your mods on a CPU. Sure you can limp around butif drive it hard you're gonna pop your motor for sure.

hmm. Well, I do have that new fuel pump in, but I dont think its gonna change anything until I get a stand alone. Just the extra saftey for now. So again, is there something else I should check or go over again to figure out my unrepsonsive problem?

There's nothing else. You have an exhaust restriction. You've already identified the problem. Find someone with a free stock pre-cat who wants to dump it on you and I'm sure you'll be good to go.
