"Stealth" maybe, but not sleeper. "Sleeper" is something nearly indistinguishable from stock, like the Racing Beat twin tip... not a "black hole" under the rear bumper because you blacked out your exhaust. That doesn't look stock, it looks like you're one of those people whose exhaust fell off on the freeway and were too lazy to go back and pick it up.
I don't have a problem with the down-turned tip, and I'm well aware of why people do it. That's not my objection. It's the lack of anything really visible that is what I find most "aesthetically displeasing" about your exhaust. If you like it, fine, but in both of the pictures above, the exhaust is very visible. If you were going to black it out, you might as well have made a replacement panel for the rear valance that didn't have the very noticeable notch for the exhaust on the right hand side. That way it wouldn't look like something was missing and wouldn't be so "aesthetically displeasing"...

It just looks flat satin black to me.
I have a feeling it looks much better in person.
Cmon Jim, just let the guy have his dolphin exhaust and be happy!

I agree that it looks a lot better in the latest picture he posted, and it does go with his wheels.

Well I think it is great that you created a custom part for your car! And who cares what people think as long as you like it. (I personally think it looks great.) I also plan on creating a custom catback, maybe with a Remus muffler.
So do you have any pics from the underside or before you installed it?

jimlab, its pretty obvious you dont even like the rotary engine in general, nevertheless how it sounds. btw hows that v8 swap doing?...Personally I went from a WRX boxer engine with full exhaust to the rx7 with full exhaust and apexi n1, and honestly I like the chainsaw on steriods sound. jack you should make a video of it, also, the turndowns are very functional, keeps the bumper from looking like mine...well my car also shoots flames that go all the way up to the rear hatch...

looks good to me...it's simple and functional (if you ever hit the track). Anyone who road races knows that many many road courses have db levels which is a problem with rotaries. Most FC's in the SCCA angle some tip downward but yours looks real close to the RE piece. thumbs up from me.

It looks like "Deputy Droopalong's" gun barrel...
It's like getting in bed with a naked woman and not having an erection...
It has no "intimidation factor."
My opinion is that the RX7 should appear aggressive and some what intimidating... Based on its performance...

And while we're talking about hissyfit arguments, aren't you the one who stopped by my thread to tell me that I went to all that work and then "picked the ugliest ****** wheels on the planet"?
Everyone who posts pictures has to be open to the possibility that not everyone will like what they've done with their car.

I still want a 'tasteful' dual exhaust and I don't care about a little extra weight. Someone fab up one of these (and not with chrome 'canister' 5" tips)...
