Over 1000 Spirit R's were the Type A's with the red Recaros.

Mazda made 325 2000-2001 RZ's with these seats (although their press release says they made 175).

Love the pictures! And Yes. By about 3/4" I wanted the logo on my seats to be slightly bigger as I think the logo on the originals is too small.

Those's seats in red, on a red FD look like crap !!!!!! They need to be in a dark color Fd, like mine.
So I'll help you out, and take them off your hands your mother n law did a great job!! The backs could use some more elbow grease , you didn't take your time ..All BS aside , super job on those seats, looks better than new ! I'll have to Photo shop your car to match mine, then they'll look perfect. enjoy the hell out of them .I know I am

No...not from Ramy.
Jason (HWND) was reluctantly kind enough to part with the crusty originals.

I own a 2001 RZ that I purchased and imported from Japan and I have an interest in researching info about the JDM models.

I tracked down the VIN numbers of every Spirit R and RZ built.

By decoding the Spirit R VINs, I was able to determine which cars were the Type A's that came with the Recaros.

Every version VI RZ had them.

Is your mother in law interested in making at least a right hand seat and possibly a set in black for my Recaro RZs? If so, PM me with a price. Otherwise, can you share with me your contact info at Recaro so that I can purchase the fabric? You inspired me...

I had the opportunity to buy some Profi's from Fritz but declined. I decided I really don't want an all out race seat in my "street" car. To get in and out of the car with a race seat really requires a removable steering wheel. And I'm not interested in one of those. And although the race seat looks good and performs well on the track I figured I could get 90% of the performance and all good looks out of the Recaro's And since I'm not racing the FIA cert doesn't get me much given I *know* the SR's are legit and not a Chinese knockoff
But thanks for the offer...hey....but it does beg the question why do you want to sell yours?!?!?

Regards,
Crispy

Selling them as I am selling the 7, just does not make sense to keep it here in AK. there are no tracks or anything, I drive it around town and home, hence the seats are no overkill, I already have a pair of stock seats too to replace them, who know I may just stick it in the STI or the E46.

I probably will have the seats for a while if I sell the car along with the Kinesis wheels just in case I move back to Cali and buy another 7.

Excellent job BTW in restoring those seats..
