Need some opinions on Exhaust

I was rearended recently and need a new catback.

I found a site with decent prices and deals on some and need some opinions on what to get, I dont want any of the ones over 500 except the jic dual tip which is just hot. Im mainly looking at HKS turbo exhaust but am open to others. I dont want anything super load since Florida is cracking down on modded exhaust. But if you have heard it and it sounds like a Ferrari I want that one!

thanks guys

I'm pretty sure what I have is the HKS turbo exhaust, but the previous owner put it on so I'm not completely sure which HKS it is. I'm in cali, and the exhaust isnt that loud unless its under WOT, (I have a high flow cat probably quiets it a bit), but I still got hassled by a cop even though I'm SURE its under the decibel level. From what I've been reading its not too great an exhaust, the 3" diameter was measured from the OUTSIDE not the inside and such... Rumors but I thought I'd say it. I like how the car sounds, even though it might be restrictive which is why its not too loud :P:.

Any of the cannister-style exhausts (Blitz, Apexi, etc) will be significantly louder than the true muffler-style exhausts (Racing Beat, PFS, HKS Hyper(?), Greddy PE/SP). I also don't care at all for the cannister-style sound....

I have the Blitz Nur Spec and love it. It is a bit loud, but it sounds great. The flow of the catback is unbeatable too.

RB probabely doesn't make a full exhaust for the FD because it wouldn't sell because of all the cheap downpipes and midpipes on E-bay.

I wasn't aware that Greddy sold a FD downpipe. The HKS downpipe is not stainless steel, has the poor flowing crush for right hand drive FD's, and is only 75 mm piping (3"=76.2mm). The latter wouldn't be a bad thing if you will always be running the stock cat but I can't recommend this downpipe. An Ebay 3" 304 stainless downpipe is probabely worth a chance even if fitment may be a problem. http://www.corksport.com has an 80mm (3.15") 304SS downpipe but without an 80mm midpipe/cat section which no one sales in the U.S. it's kind of pointless. Tanabe is supposed to be coming out with a downpipe in the U.S. if you must have a quality Japanese downpipe.

That JIC exhaust is only a single tip for the RX-7. I also believe only the catback section is included in the U.S. (does NOT attach to the downpipe and does NOT have a resonater). Somone please correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe we should get a petition going for JIC to switch to the dual outlet for the FD because it looks really nice especially in titanium 8O .
