Need an exhaust system

Hello, I have a stock 94 RX7. The stock exhaust needs to be replaced. I want to put a aftermarket exhaust. There are so many type and brand. I need recommendation for an cat back exhaust system that is best suited for a RX7 and will give me the max hp boost but not so loud and annoying. Thanks

yup you wanna do a Down pipe, prob stock cat or high flow unless you got and ecu upgrade, and then the racing beat dual or other "quieter" exhaust

Racing Beat dual tip for subtle appearance and sound. It's what a lot of poeple end up with after getting tired of the loud ones.

I am also in need of an exhaust, adn would like a quiet one that doesnt hinder performance. I currently am running a single turbo with all the supporting mods, adn have a 3" downpipe into a apexi n1. Any suggestions??? Btw the car will be a weekend warrior/drag car. thanks again

I'd be willing to bet that over half of the FD's on this forum have a Racing Beat dual-tip. BTW I love my Racing Beat!!

I have the GReddy SP. Its one of the better sounding exhausts out there if you can get over the huge tip.

Thanks for all of the input. Between the racing beat dual and apexi n1 and apexi GT, which has the lowerest noise and which has the best performance. If anyone knows out there please list them in order. I also saw this apexi n1 dual which looked very neat. anyone has that pipe. Thanks

I am not sure about performance but I know noise wise the RB will be the least noise.

I'd consider the Greddy Ti for performance, price, and sound.
Racing Beat is a little quieter, a little cheaper and still performs well.

I love my HKS superdragger, its not too loud, it doesnt sound like a fart can, I'm told it gives the car a super expensive sound to it, I love it!

I just went into a custom exhaust shop, and had him build me a 3" CB with a Magnaflow muffler. Cost 250 dollars total, very quiet at idle, with just a deep rumbling, and sounds great after 2nd turbo comes on.

Is there any difference between titanium vs stainless steel? How's greddy titanium racing exhaust?

Weight , titanium exhausts are around 10-20lbs.
SS exhaust are 25lbs But the Greddy Ti is
great! cheap for a titanium exhaust , weighs 10-11lbs.
i think it might alittle loud. i dont know though. But
I am thinking of switching to Greddy Ti soon...

cat-back exhaust materials (worst to best, cheap to expensive)...

mild steel - crap
aluminized steel - holds up ok on piston engines
409 stainless steel - good corrosion resistance and lighter
304 stainless steel - excellent corrosion resistance and lighter
commercially pure titanium - best corrosion resistance and lightest weight

Some cat backs may utilize more than one of the above metals.
Remember that a lot of water exits the exhaust and rusts exhausts from the inside out.
Muffler packing material may not last as long as the metal.

Racing Beat dual tip (80 mm ~3.15" piping)...
+ 304 stainless steel, durable, well constructed
+ polished tips, stock look, beautiful exhaust
+ very quiet and sounds good
+ easy installation and perfect fit, doesn't hang low
- heavy at 31 lbs (stock is ~33lbs)
- slightly less flow because of more bends and 2 piece design

Greddy Ti (80 mm ~3.15" piping)...
+ titanium is best for corrosion resistance, beautiful construction
+ deep hollow sound but not loud
+ minimal bends and one piece construction should flow well
+ easy to install something this light, good fitment, doesn't hang low
+ light weight at 10 lbs
+ very cheap for a titanium exhaust (~$600)
- 4.5" single tip is rather large but looks ok with blue tip

I own both of these exhausts on my 3G 7s. If you want near stock look and sound then the RB dual is very nice. If your after performance then the Greddy Ti has a lot to offer for the price.

Quick question. How much louder is the Greddy Ti or one of these other aftermarket exhausts as compared to the Racing Beat line??? thanks

Racing beat seems to be the favorite, but I love my Greddy SP. Like someone already stated, the tip is a bit big for my taste, but I do love the sound. It is a lot deeper than the rest.

It really depends on other mods. All stock exhaust = stealth. The stock cat quiets more than some aftermarket cat backs!

I am twin sequencial with SS downpipe + Ntech cat + Greddy Ti and people here me coming but some don't even look. Most pickup trucks around here are louder. I do have to turn up my radio a little at highway speeds.
The same setup with RB dual was almost as quiet as some new cars. I could still here the engine though (good) and WOT gets loud.
I put the RB dual on my other 7 (sequencial + SS downpipe + stock cat) and it is very quiet. I stalled my motor a few times because I couldn't here my motor reving until I got used to it. Even WOT isn't loud.
