Need advice for new intake

Hello,

I am planning to upgrade from my stock intake on my RHD rx7 FD. I am thinking between the SR motorsports on:
http://www.srmotorsports.com/sr93intk.html

or the Autoexe one which i can get for about $700 slightly used:
http://www.rhdjapan.com/jdm-low/Auto...D3S-RX-7-60499

Anyone have experience with either of these? Anyone know how they sound?
Which one would you buy?

Thanks.

I think both are overpriced but the AutoExe is a sick looking part. Might want to talk to purerx7 from rx7boutique also to see if he has any intakes at more reasonable prices.

buy a k & n intake for $40 bucks and have someone do custom pipes that sit on the side of the bumper for direct air flow to the turbos. Did it on mine and had a 4mph difference in the quarter mile (10.6 @131mph vs 10.8 @127mph)

THE MONEY YOU SPEND ON BUILDING THIS YOU WOULD HAVE BOUGHT 2 OF THOSE INTAKE KITS FROM SRMOTORSPORTS. plus they take weeks to get stuff

this picture isnt mines but its and example of what i have done!

Hmm. I'm wondering if that AutoExe will work with certain FMIC's.

both of those intakes are very good if you plan on staying with SMIC setup

personally i would get a cheaper intake and save up for better intercooler setup

I am under the assumption you are the one who inquired through my website, Bill? Hopefully you received my e-mail. A LOT of R&D went into the Autoexe intake and is by far, the most function intake made for the fd.

At the same time it acts as a piece of art, so you are paying not only for R&D but aesthetics as-well. I remember a thread from 2002, where I believe Jason said that you can not run a FMIC with this intake as their was an issue with the piping. However, I can not confirm that.

For the sonic characteristics, you would not notice a difference between a $100 intake and a $1200 intake, they will both sound the same. If it was my money I would go the autoexe route, but only you know if it justifies the price tag. They sell at quite a high premium over in the motherland, so unlike most of my items on my website where I can work with prices, it is hard to discount these intakes.

Autoexe looks great, and Im sure it works great too, but that's a lot of money to spend on just a intake...then again if you have the money why not?
