Leaving to go test-drive it in 30 min. I'll be back in 4 hours or so.
Mahjik- I did a search on the forum and found nothing about the company. So far the company has dished out the money for a new tranny($2500), fixed rear suspension(???), replaced hoses and lines(???), replaced radiator(???)
The owner told me that when he doesnt start the car for a week, a tiny bit of blue smoke comes out the back. Is this normal or does it have a small oil leak somewhere?? He told me that he payed extra cash to get the seals and gaskets covered, so I'm not too worried.
Wish me luck

The guy I bought my FD from said that it had a "warranty" what a joke. Trying to get it in my name was a complete nighmare. They needed mantinence records for the whole life of the car. The original owner then had to show a notorized letter to the company. I had a hard enough time getting ahold of the guy who sold me my car. (Once money exchanges hands the seller becomes really hard to reach) He has his money what does he care. I was just happy that he got a new engine before he sold it to me
most aftermarket warranties are a joke

I DID the maintenance and kept all the records. But they still said it was insufficient. So I created spreadsheet documenting where and when & at what mileage I had the oil changed. I found that I was missing three receipts.
I ended up gettting a hold of some "blank" mechanic work orders from a defunct shop and created the needed receipts to saitsfy them
Oh yeah, I had an RE Amemiya Intake, Cat-Back & suspension on the car. They didn't seem to care. They ended up paying.

Ok...just got back from driving the car
Its a very good car. The outside has a couple dings and 2 chips on the hood but that aint bad for a 10 year old car that is in Los Angeles. The inside aint bad. The leather is a little worn but everything looks good. Im not too worried about the cosmetic stuff. Most of my sponsorships are cosmetic companies.
The motor... I got on it as much as I could due to LA traffic and all but it felt very good. The turbo's were smooth(rebuilt 1,000 miles ago) and the tranny shifted clean as well(automatic and only 1,000 miles old). Took it on some fubar'd city streets in Hollywood and the suspension didnt give out one wierd noise. Popped the hood and found all new hoses. The car idle'd perfect. Cant really come up with any negatives about the motor. He did a compression check 3,000 miles ago and it all came back good. But thats all under the warranty anyways.
The owner had all the paper work from since he bought it and had all the warranty info on it as well. It has been worked on only by Tri-Point automotive. Not sure if they have a good reputation. Doesn't appear that the car has been thrashed at all and I am very pleased that the car is stock. I will never buy a fixed up car. Why would you want to ride around in something you didnt build? Lame
Anyways...going to get a loan tomorrow and possibly get the car next weekend. For 13k its worth it.
