my TT fuel door pics have moved
I've recently received some inquiries as to where my pics went. Well, photopoint decided to start charging, and I decided to go elsewhere.
All my pics are now here:

Yes I did the a/c myself. Spent about 80 hours total to get it to look that way. I have a write up on Ryan Schlagheck's web site. It's overloaded with detail:

As far as the fuel door, I don't have a write up. Just pictures of the brackets needed to secure it to the body. No welding was necessary. Just some extra aluminum to make the brackets, and an air hose fitting to modify the stock fuel release cable. Note the parts off the inside of the stock fuel door I had to transfer over. I then painted and clearcoated the inside of the door to match the car. You can also see that the collar that fits around the filler neck was chromed, and I painted the fuel cap safety red. About 4 hours total.

the door was purchased from the dealership. I couldn't find a wrecked car anywhere at the time.
List price is around $400, and unless you work for a shop, that's probably the price you'll be asked to pay. I got a 20% discount because of who I worked for at the time.
it's very different from all other aluminum doors you can buy. The finish is much brighter, the door much thicker, it uses real hex bolts (not cheap phillips style screws), and each hex bolt has it's own black gasket to separate it from the door. It also springs open, while the other doors spring closed (are not made to work with stock latching mechanism).
