Yeah.. man the whole car is like that... when i got there.. I knocked on the door and he said he'd open the garage door for me.. i stood outside.. and as the door began to rise... my jaw dropped.. and before the door was all the way up I had a check for his asking price out and ready for him. It was like like unveiling a masterpeice...
we took it for a test drive perfect boost pattern... everything pristine... i took it right off his hands... he says oh yeah.. hands me a box with the stock AST and the Thick lil green manual (OEM Manual) and the printed out version in binders.

Nice car! Good luck with it. It looks like some of the reliability issues have been addressed. I have a Black R1 as well with about 53,000 miles on it in the same condition. Do yourself a favor keep lots of wax on it and try to keep it out of the blazing summer sun whenever possible. The reason is it will deplete the luster of the paint. Trust me the paint on the R1's especially the ones with an early build date have a very thin coating of paint.

I ended up selling it when i moved.. and regretted it forever.. spent a whole year looking for this one... tough finding one that hasn't been put in a Wok yet. (riced)

Awesome!
Boy, that car is beautiful. You got one hell of a deal on it. The engine and guage cluster is in awesome shape and cleanliness. Honestly, you could probably sell that thing for 30k at Barrett Jackson auction if most of the people there know what it is.
The more people that get eductaed about these cars over more time, the more the value in them will be seen. I mean 15,000 models sold in the US originally, and the features of this car that are unique. It performs so well for the money they originally charged.
In my eyes, you have a 12-yr-old US collector car just because of the low nubers that are left here.
Keep that thing clean

Well said!
Nice car the only problem with it is that I'd be afraid to drive it or get in it haha..
I feel the same way about mine but being my only car I just get in it nicely and don't seem to be doing any damage to the interior which is what I care about. The outside is going to get trashed and can be made better than stock in the future...can't really ever get an interior perfect again.

Verywellspoken, nice car BTW.
