My new FD!!!
Alrighty fellas, I finally got the chance to scan in some pictures of my new ride. After 9 years of a hard-on for 3rd gens, I finally worked my *** off enough and had the money and ability to aquire one. And, after almost an entire year of searching for the right one, I can finally call myself an FD owner. Hope you like the pics, give me some of your honest feedback and opinions.
I found her while I was on leave visiting some friends and family. A friend told me that he saw an FD in the area and it was almost exactly what I wanted. I called the guy up (original owner), and the rest is history.
In case you cant tell from the pics, its a '93 Black/Tan Touring with about 40k miles on it. Except for a small rub-mark in the back bumper (about the size of a nickel), she is in almost perfect shape. Completely stock and original, with the exception of the Enkei wheels.
My plans for it right now are to do just a few mods I kind of like it being stock, so I'm not going to go too overboard. I'm working on some of the reliability mods right now. After that, I plan on putting in a downpipe and probably a nice cat-back. Probably a new intake after that. Anyone have any suggestions for which ones I should use? I kind of like the look of the dual-tip exhaust. Anyone know of a dual-tip exhaust with a really nice (low-tone) sound to it? What about the intake? I was looking at the PFS and M2 one, but I'm not sure.
Also, the car will be garaged in the winter, but I'd also like a nice heavy-duty, outdoor, weather proof cover for it for the summer. Any suggestions there?
Thanks a lot for your input. I'll be around.
Rob

Thanks man! I wasn't too sure if I was going to keep them originally, but I have definately changed my mind since then.
This is odd, it won't let me post any more pics... Everytime I do, it just edits my last post.... weird

Those are the same wheels I have on my 3rd gen. My car is silver but they look good on a black car as well. They look like 17's. The are Enkie RS-E. They are 3 peice wheels made in Japan. A now disc. model. Nice car!

Nice looking car. The leather looks in good shape. You're lucky. Sometimes the leather seats can take a beating and wear out quickly. How's the Bose? Is the system working ok, or has it developed some glitches like we'ver heard from some others?
Cut out those angled shots. You're making me dizzy. :-)

My old man just bought a stock R1, and these are his preliminary mods that I recommended:
Greddy 60mm Water Temp gauge with Peak/Hold and Warning function
Greddy Boost Gauge, same as above
Turbo Timer
Aluminum AST
Downpipe

Man,
That is a really nice looking car. I know its another FD but for some reason it looks a LOT nicer than the average ones.
I think its the black/tan.
Nice ride.
